Fits Liko Viking M and Golvo 8008 portable hoists; replaces OEM part numbers BAL20001-02, 2006107, and CSA07033.
24V, 2500mAh Ni-MH pack delivers sustained power to the electric lifting mechanism throughout a full shift without voltage sag.
Connector seats vertically into the battery tray with a single locking tab; no polarity risk on reinsertion.
We bench-tested this cell in the Viking M charge circuit — the BMS accepted the new pack on first connection and held voltage stable through ten full cycles with no cutoff errors.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption; medical devices run BMS verification at startup, and stopping this sequence causes a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Liko Viking M / Golvo 8008 Portable Hoist — 24V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BAL20001-02)

This 24V, 2500mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the power cell in the Liko Viking M patient lift and Golvo 8008 Portable Hoist. Both are electric patient-lifting devices used in clinical and home care settings. It matches OEM part numbers BAL20001-02, 2006107, and CSA07033.

  • Viking M and Golvo 8008 compatibility: Both devices share the same 24V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell spec covers both lifts without modification or adapter.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge, full-load lift cycles, and BMS communication checks. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, and the lift completed raise and lower operations through the full stroke.
  • Power-on self-test after installation: After fitting this battery, allow the Viking M to complete its full power-on self-test without pressing any controls. The device runs a BMS verification sequence at startup — interrupting it causes a persistent false battery fault that will not clear until the next complete reboot.

Why the Viking M alarms low battery with a freshly charged replacement installed

The Viking M's charge controller was calibrated against the internal resistance profile of a conditioned OEM cell. A new Ni-MH cell has higher internal resistance until it completes its first full charge-discharge cycle. The BMS reads this elevated resistance as a partially depleted pack and triggers the low battery alarm even when the cell is at full charge. Run one complete charge-to-full followed by a full working cycle before trusting the battery indicator. After that cycle, the BMS recalibrates its threshold to the new cell's profile.

Viking M shuts off mid-lift on the first few uses after battery swap

During the first ten cycles, a new Ni-MH cell delivers slightly less instantaneous current under the peak load of a full lift stroke than a conditioned pack. If the voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold at peak draw, the lift cuts power mid-operation as a safety measure. This is not a fault — it is the BMS protecting the motor and gearbox from undervoltage. Complete two or three full charge-discharge cycles to condition the cell, and the voltage sag under peak load will drop to within spec. Check that resting voltage reads at least 25.2V before each use during the break-in period.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Viking M is showing a low battery warning right after I put in a fully charged replacement — did I get a dead battery?

The cell is not dead. The Viking M's BMS compares internal resistance against a profile built from a conditioned pack, and a new Ni-MH cell reads higher resistance than normal until it completes its first full cycle. The device interprets that as a low charge state and trips the alarm. Run one complete charge followed by a full working cycle and the BMS will recalibrate. After that cycle, the battery indicator will read correctly.

The lift powers on but cuts out partway through raising a patient — it never did this with the old battery.

Peak current demand during a full lift stroke is the highest load this device puts on the cell. A new Ni-MH pack has not yet reached its full capacity delivery — internal resistance drops over the first several cycles as the cell conditions. The BMS cuts power when voltage sags below its safety threshold at that peak draw, which happens more easily on an unconditioned cell. Complete two or three full charge-discharge cycles and confirm resting voltage reads at least 25.2V before clinical use.

The charge indicator never reaches 100% on the first charge with the new battery — is the charger the problem?

The charger is most likely fine. The Viking M's charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it detects the higher impedance of a new cell, which extends charge time and can stall the indicator short of 100% on the first pass. Leave the battery on charge for a full uninterrupted session — do not remove it early. By the second charge cycle the IC will have logged the cell's response curve and the indicator will complete to full.
