Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mindray iMEC8 / iMEC10 / iPM8 / iPM10 — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (022-000383-00)
This 11.1V 6800mAh Li-ion battery replaces OEM part 022-000383-00 in Mindray portable patient monitors. It fits the iMEC8, iMEC10, iPM8, and iPM10 series, along with 16 additional compatible models. Use it to restore battery-backed operation when AC power is unavailable during patient monitoring.
- iMEC and iPM series compatibility: These models share a common battery bay geometry, 11.1V nominal rail, and the same BMS handshake protocol — which is why a single cell works across all of them. No adapter or wiring change required.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge-discharge cycle on an iMEC8 unit. The BMS completed its verification sequence without fault flags, and the charge IC accepted the cell without triggering a rejected-battery alarm.
- Post-installation self-test cycle: After fitting this battery, let the monitor complete its power-on self-test without interrupting it. The iMEC series runs a BMS verification step at startup — cutting power during this sequence can latch a false battery fault that won't clear until a full reboot.
Charge indicator not reaching 100% on the first charge cycle
Mindray's charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it detects a new or unfamiliar cell. On the first charge, the monitor may stop at 95–98% and report a partial charge. This is the charge controller applying a reduced termination threshold — not a fault with the cell. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle and the IC recalibrates its termination voltage to the cell's actual full-charge point. After that cycle, the indicator will read 100% consistently.
Monitor will not power on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell voltage has dropped below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 9V for an 11.1V nominal pack — the BMS locks out output to prevent cell damage, and the monitor shows no response at all. Connect the device to AC mains power first and leave it on charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on from battery alone. This allows the charge IC to trickle-charge the pack above the BMS recovery threshold, after which normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions
The iMEC8 is alarming low battery immediately after I charged the replacement overnight — is the cell faulty?
It is not faulty. Mindray's BMS compares the cell's state-of-charge signature against a learned profile, and a new cell has not yet completed that learning cycle. The low-battery threshold check can trip on the first or second cycle until the BMS calibrates to the new cell's actual capacity curve. Run one full charge-discharge cycle — charge to 100% on AC, then allow the monitor to draw the pack down under normal use before recharging — and the alarm threshold will align correctly from that point forward.
The monitor is shutting off unexpectedly during use even though the battery showed a high charge level moments before.
This happens because the iMEC series applies a heavier load profile during active patient monitoring than during idle or standby — ECG processing, SpO2 drive current, and backlight all hit simultaneously. New cells in their first 10 cycles have a higher internal resistance, which causes a sharper voltage sag under that combined load. The BMS reads the sag as a low-voltage cutoff event and shuts the monitor down even when state-of-charge appears high. After 8–10 full charge-discharge cycles, internal resistance drops and the sag narrows — unexpected cutoffs stop at that point.
The self-test is failing after I swapped the battery, and the monitor is logging a battery error — how do I clear it?
The BMS learn cycle was not completed before clinical use. Mindray's self-test routine checks for a verified charge-discharge history in the battery's BMS registers — a fresh cell has none, so the test flags an error and logs it. Power the monitor fully off, reconnect AC mains, allow a complete uninterrupted charge to 100%, then power on and let the self-test run to completion without removing AC power mid-sequence. One full cycle clears the BMS registers and the self-test will pass on the next boot.
