Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy Fold — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (EB-BF901ABU)
This is a 3.85V, 2000mAh Li-Polymer cell that replaces the internal battery in the Samsung Galaxy Fold. It fits the SM-F900J, SM-F9000, SM-F900F, and related SM-F900 variants. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a charge or causes unexpected shutdowns.
- SM-F900 series compatibility: All SM-F900 variants share the same voltage rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol as the original EB-BF901ABU cell. The fuel gauge IC communicates over the same I2C bus, so the replacement cell pairs without firmware rejection.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on an SM-F9000 unit. The BMS accepted the cell immediately, charge current ramped correctly through CC/CV stages, and the protection circuit triggered at expected cutoff thresholds without false trips.
- First-cycle calibration tip: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging pushes amps into an uncalibrated state.
Why the Fold reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The Galaxy Fold uses a fuel gauge IC that tracks charge state using a learned discharge curve from the old cell. After installing a new cell, that stored curve no longer matches the new cell's characteristics. The IC's coulomb counter starts reporting inaccurate state-of-charge figures — often reading higher than actual. One full slow discharge down to shutdown, followed by a complete uninterrupted charge to 100%, resets the learned curve and restores accurate percentage readings.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the new cell's voltage drops below the minimum threshold the modem or foldable display controller will tolerate under peak load — even though the fuel gauge still reads 20–30%. The cell voltage sags sharply during high-draw moments, hitting the BMS undervoltage cutoff at roughly 3.0V per cell before the percentage reaches zero. It is not a faulty battery — it is an uncalibrated fuel gauge reading a flat discharge curve instead of the actual voltage. Run one full slow discharge-charge cycle to recalibrate; shutdowns at low percentage should stop after that.

Frequently Asked Questions
USB-PD fast charging isn't working on my Galaxy Fold after fitting the new battery — is something wrong with the cell?
This is normal on the first charge cycle after a cell swap. The charge IC re-negotiates the USB-PD contract against the new cell's impedance profile, and on that first cycle it often defaults to standard 5V charging as a precaution. Plug in using the original Samsung charger and cable, let it complete one full charge without interruption, then disconnect and reconnect — fast charging should resume at the correct wattage on the second cycle.
My Fold won't power on at all after the replacement battery was sitting in a drawer for a few months before installation — what's happened?
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V, the BMS entered lockout mode to prevent cell damage. The device will not respond to the power button in this state. Connect the original Samsung charger and leave it plugged in for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything — the charge IC will trickle current into the cell until it recovers above the BMS re-enable threshold of around 3.0V, at which point the phone will boot normally.
The battery percentage on my Galaxy Fold is jumping around erratically — it dropped from 60% to 30% in seconds, then jumped back up.
The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve and producing erratic state-of-charge readings while it does so. This is most visible in the first two or three cycles after installation. Run a full discharge — let the phone shut itself down — then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging disabled. After that cycle the IC has enough data to track the new cell accurately and the percentage jumps stop.
