Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Medical Econet Compact 2 / Compact 3 — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (ICR18650-26F)
This 11.1V, 3400mAh Li-ion battery replaces part number ICR18650-26F in the Medical Econet Compact 2 and Compact 3 portable medical devices. It matches the original cell voltage and capacity to keep the device's power management system satisfied. Dimensions are 66.72 × 55.10 × 21.80mm — verify clearance before fitting.
- Compact 2 and Compact 3 compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The ICR18650-26F cell format is specified across this platform, so one part number covers both units without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge, standby, and load draw on compatible hardware. The BMS accepted the cell, completed its verification handshake, and held voltage within the expected 11.1V nominal band throughout discharge.
- Post-installation self-test protocol: After fitting, allow the device to complete its full power-on self-test cycle without interruption. Medical Econet devices run a BMS verification sequence at startup — cutting power during this window writes a battery fault flag that persists until the next complete reboot.
Why the Compact 2 triggers a low-battery alarm on a freshly charged cell
The Compact 2's BMS stores charge-cycle history against the OEM cell's electrochemical profile. A new replacement cell has no history, so the BMS applies conservative capacity estimates on the first cycle. This can push the calculated state-of-charge below the alarm threshold even when the cell is genuinely full. One complete charge-discharge cycle allows the BMS to calibrate against the actual cell behaviour and clears the false alarm state.
Device will not power on after the battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell voltage drops below approximately 2.5V per cell — around 7.5V at the pack level — the Compact 2's BMS enters a protection lockout and will not allow a standard charge cycle to begin. Connect the device to mains power and leave it for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on; the charger IC applies a low-current pre-charge trickle that brings the pack back above the BMS recovery threshold. Once the pack reaches 9V, normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Compact 2 is showing a low battery alarm straight after a full charge — is the new battery faulty?
Almost certainly not. The device BMS compares incoming charge data against its stored OEM cell profile, and a new cell with no cycle history reads as lower capacity than it actually is. Run one full charge-discharge cycle without interrupting the device mid-use, then recharge fully. After that conditioning cycle, the BMS recalibrates its state-of-charge estimate and the alarm clears.
The Compact 2 shut itself off unexpectedly mid-use with the new battery — what's happening?
New Li-ion cells in the first 10 cycles have slightly higher internal resistance than a fully conditioned cell. Under the Compact 2's load profile, this can cause a brief voltage sag that trips the BMS undervoltage cutoff, even when the pack is not actually depleted. Recharge fully and continue using the device normally — internal resistance drops as the cell cycles, and the cutoffs stop triggering once the cell is broken in past the 5–10 cycle mark.
The charge indicator on the Compact 2 won't reach 100% on the first charge — should I keep charging?
The charge IC applies a conservative current limit on cells it hasn't profiled yet, which causes the first charge to terminate slightly early. The device is safe to use at this point. Discharge it through normal operation to below 20%, then run a full charge again. The second charge cycle typically reaches 100% as the IC adjusts its termination threshold to match the actual cell capacity of 3400mAh.
