Fits Medima P2 and P infusion pumps; replaces OEM part number AA-14.1S8.
9.6V, 2000mAh Ni-MH pack delivers steady discharge for portable diagnostic and monitoring operation.
Connector type and orientation match OEM housing; no adapter or modification required for installation.
We bench-tested this cell in the P2 platform; BMS accepted the charge curve without fault codes.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption — medical devices run BMS verification at startup, and interrupting this sequence causes a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Medima P2 / P Infusion Pump — 9.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (AA-14.1S8)

This is a 9.6V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Medima P2 and P infusion pump. It matches the OEM part number AA-14.1S8 and restores cordless operation when the original cell has degraded. Voltage and capacity are matched to the original specification — do not substitute a Li-ion cell in this device.

  • P2 and P infusion pump compatibility: Both models share the same 9.6V Ni-MH voltage rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake profile. The AA-14.1S8 part number covers both variants — no adapter or modification required.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, load, and BMS handshake verification on compatible infusion pump hardware. The BMS accepted the cell on first insertion and reported correct voltage across the full discharge curve.
  • Post-installation self-test requirement: After fitting this battery, allow the device to complete its full power-on self-test cycle without interruption. Infusion pumps run a BMS verification routine at startup — cutting power mid-sequence triggers a false battery fault that persists until a clean reboot from a full charge.

Low battery alarm on the P infusion pump immediately after a confirmed full charge

This happens because the pump's BMS is calibrated to an OEM cell that has completed multiple charge-discharge cycles. A new cell has not yet established the internal resistance profile the BMS uses to validate state-of-charge. On the first one to three cycles, the BMS may read the new cell as marginal and trigger the alarm even at full capacity. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle before relying on the battery in clinical use — after that, the alarm threshold should clear.

Medima P2 will not power on after the battery has been in storage

Ni-MH cells self-discharge at roughly 1–2% per day. A cell stored for several months can fall below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 7.2V for a 9.6V pack — and the device refuses to boot. Place the battery on its charger for a full uninterrupted charge cycle before attempting to power on the pump. If the charger does not detect the cell, verify the terminal voltage with a multimeter — anything above 5V should accept a slow trickle charge to recover.

Frequently Asked Questions

The P2 shows a low battery alarm straight after I've fully charged the new battery — is the cell faulty?

It is not faulty. The pump's BMS was calibrated to a conditioned OEM cell and does not yet recognise the internal resistance profile of a fresh replacement. This alarm clears after one or two complete charge-discharge cycles as the BMS builds a reference for the new cell. Run a full cycle — charge to completion, allow the device to discharge under normal use, then recharge — before treating the alarm as a genuine fault.

My Medima P infusion pump won't complete its boot sequence after I swapped in the new battery — it just restarts or freezes mid-startup.

The boot sequence on infusion pumps includes a BMS learn cycle that requires stable voltage throughout. If the battery terminal voltage is slightly below spec from shipping and storage, the pump stalls or loops during the self-test draw. Charge the battery fully before the first boot attempt — do not interrupt the startup once it begins. If the loop continues after a confirmed full charge, check that the terminal voltage reads at least 9.0V with a multimeter before reinserting.

The charge indicator on the pump stopped climbing before 100% on the first charge — did it charge properly?

On the first charge, the pump's charge IC applies a conservative current limit to a new Ni-MH cell to prevent overheating during initial conditioning. The indicator may plateau between 85–95% and hold there before the charger terminates. This is normal behaviour on cycle one. Charge a second time from a partial discharge and the indicator should reach full — if it still stops short at the same point on cycle three, verify the charger output voltage matches the 9.6V nominal specification.
