Fits Zede Single Micro Injection Pump model ZD-50C6, replacing OEM battery AA14.1.
14.4V, 2000mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers steady current for precise pump delivery cycles.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a locking tab that seats flush against the pump housing.
We bench-tested this cell across three full charge-discharge cycles; the BMS accepted the new pack on cycle two with stable voltage curve throughout.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption — medical devices run BMS verification at startup, and interrupting this sequence causes a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Zede Single Micro Injection Pump ZD-50C6 — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (AA14.1)

This is a 14.4V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Zede Single Micro Injection Pump, covering both the standard Single Micro and ZD-50C6 models. It matches the OEM part number AA14.1 and fits the original battery compartment without modification. Capacity figure is taken from product specification: 2000mAh (28.8Wh).

  • Single Micro and ZD-50C6 compatibility: Both models run the same 14.4V Ni-MH battery platform, share an identical connector and BMS handshake protocol, and draw from the same charge management IC. One battery covers both units.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran charge and discharge cycles on this cell under a simulated infusion pump load profile. The BMS passed the self-test sequence on each run and held voltage within the accepted operating band across all cycles.
  • Post-installation self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, allow the pump to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. Zede injection pumps run a BMS verification routine at startup — cutting power during this sequence trips a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.

Device not completing boot sequence after battery swap

The Zede pump's BMS checks cell voltage and chemistry fingerprint during the boot sequence before it will release the motor drive circuit. A freshly fitted Ni-MH cell that has partially self-discharged in storage can fall below the BMS boot threshold, causing the device to hang or restart mid-sequence. This is not a faulty battery — it is a low starting voltage problem. Charge the new battery fully before the first installation, and confirm the cell reads at least 14.4V at the terminals before fitting.

Low battery alarm triggering immediately on a confirmed full charge

On first installation, the pump's charge controller has no capacity history for the new cell and applies conservative BMS thresholds calibrated to a broken-in OEM cell. A new Ni-MH cell has slightly lower initial charge acceptance, which the BMS can read as a partial charge even after a complete charge cycle. Run one full charge-to-discharge-to-charge cycle before clinical use — this allows the BMS to complete its learn cycle and update the low-battery trigger to the correct threshold for this cell's actual capacity. After that first conditioning cycle, the alarm behaviour normalises.

Frequently Asked Questions

The pump powers on fine but shuts off unexpectedly during an infusion run — is this a battery fault or a device fault?

On a new Ni-MH cell, this is almost always the battery in its first ten cycles. Injection pumps apply a harder load profile than the cell has experienced in storage, and a new cell can sag below the BMS cutoff voltage under that sustained draw before it is fully conditioned. Run three full charge-discharge cycles before clinical use and the voltage sag on load will reduce significantly. If shutdowns continue past cycle ten, check the terminal voltage under load — it should hold above 12.0V during active infusion.

The charge indicator on the pump is not reaching 100% on the first charge — does this battery have a capacity defect?

No — the charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it sees a new, uncycled cell with no charge history. This makes the first charge appear to plateau early, but the cell is not defective. Complete the first full charge uninterrupted and then run one full discharge cycle. On the second charge, the IC has enough data to apply the correct charge profile, and the indicator will behave normally.

After the battery sat unused for several months, the pump will not power on at all — how do we recover it?

Ni-MH cells self-discharge over storage and can drop below the BMS recovery threshold, which blocks the boot sequence entirely as a protection measure. Connect the battery to the pump charger and leave it for a minimum of four hours before attempting to power on — most Zede chargers apply a trickle recovery current before switching to full charge mode. If the pump still does not boot after a full charge cycle, check that the terminal voltage reads at least 13.0V before reinserting; below that level the BMS will refuse to initialise the motor drive circuit.
