Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mindray DP-10VET / DP-20 / DP-30 Series — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (115-011218-00)
This 11.1V 4800mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original power cell in Mindray portable ultrasound units including the DP-10VET, DP-20, and DP-30. It matches OEM part numbers 115-011218-00, LI23I0021, 0146-00-0091-01, and 115-018013-00. Capacity is sourced from the product specification — 4800mAh (53.28Wh).
- DP-10VET / DP-20 / DP-30 compatibility: These models share the same battery bay geometry, 11.1V nominal rail, and BMS communication protocol. One cell fits across the range because the charge IC and connector pinout are identical across that generation of Mindray portable ultrasound hardware.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Mindray-compatible test rig. The BMS completed its handshake, accepted the charge curve without fault, and held voltage within spec across the full discharge profile.
- Post-swap startup procedure: After fitting this battery, let the DP-10VET complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device BMS runs a verification sequence at boot — cutting power mid-sequence registers a false battery fault that sticks until the next clean reboot.
DP-10VET not completing its boot sequence after a battery swap
The DP-10VET runs a BMS learn cycle on first use with a new cell. If the battery voltage sits below approximately 10.5V after storage, the device may stall partway through POST and refuse to proceed. The BMS interprets a resting voltage in that range as a degraded or unsafe cell. Reconnect the battery, place the unit on charge for at least two hours before powering on, and let the boot sequence run to completion without disconnecting power.
Charge indicator stuck below 100% on the first full charge
On first charge, the Mindray charge IC applies a conservative upper current limit to an uncharacterised cell. The indicator may plateau at 90–95% and hold there for an extended period before the final topping charge kicks in. This is the IC protecting against overcharge on an unknown cell — not a fault. Leave the unit on charge until the indicator clears to 100%. After one full charge-discharge cycle, the IC recognises the cell's actual capacity and the behaviour stops.

Frequently Asked Questions
The DP-10VET is showing a low battery alarm immediately after I pulled it off the charger — the replacement is fully charged
The device BMS is comparing the new cell's internal profile against the threshold set for the original OEM chemistry. A freshly installed cell that hasn't completed a learn cycle can read as marginal even at full voltage. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle — charge to 100%, use until the device initiates a low-power warning, then recharge fully. After that cycle, the BMS recalibrates its threshold to the new cell and the alarm clears.
The DP-10VET powered off mid-scan — it wasn't showing any low battery warning beforehand
Portable medical ultrasound draws unevenly — probe activation, image processing, and display backlight all spike load simultaneously. In the first 10 cycles, a new Li-ion cell hasn't stabilised its internal resistance, so a heavy load spike can pull cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold momentarily, triggering an emergency shutdown. The fix is to complete at least three full charge-discharge cycles before clinical use. After conditioning, the cell's internal resistance drops and it handles the DP-10VET's load profile without tripping the cutoff.
Device is back from storage — the DP-10VET won't power on at all even with the new battery installed
If the replacement cell sat in a warehouse below 10.5V, the DP-10VET's BMS may refuse to initiate the boot sequence — it treats deeply discharged cells as unsafe. Connect the unit to mains power via the AC adapter and leave it charging for a minimum of two hours before attempting to power on. The charger will pre-condition the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold (typically 10.8V), at which point the device will boot normally and complete its self-test.
