Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mindray EPM 700P / mobiEye 700 Series — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LP13I001B)
This 11.1V, 3800mAh lithium-ion battery replaces OEM part LP13I001B in Mindray's EPM-series portable patient monitors, including the 700P, mobiEye 700A, and MobiEye 700. It matches the original voltage rail and connector configuration for these clinical vital signs monitors. Capacity is 3800mAh (42.18Wh) as rated.
- EPM / mobiEye 700 platform fit: These models share a common battery bay, BMS handshake protocol, and 11.1V three-cell architecture. One battery part number covers the full range because the charge IC and connector pinout are identical across this platform generation.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the EPM monitor's full power-on sequence. The BMS authenticated without fault codes, and the charge circuit accepted a full charge-discharge cycle without thermal trip or state-of-charge error.
- Post-installation self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, allow the monitor to complete its power-on self-test without interruption. Mindray EPM devices run a BMS verification routine at startup — cutting power mid-sequence registers a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.
EPM monitor not completing boot sequence on a new battery
Mindray EPM monitors run a BMS learn cycle during the first few charge-discharge passes. On a fresh cell, the BMS has no stored capacity reference, so the boot sequence may stall or flag a battery error before clinical calibration is complete. This is not a fault with the cell — it is the monitor's charge IC applying conservative limits until the battery's internal resistance profile is mapped. Run one full charge-discharge cycle before placing the unit back in service.
Low battery alarm triggers immediately after a confirmed full charge
This happens when the BMS self-test threshold is calibrated to the OEM cell's internal resistance and the replacement cell hasn't yet completed its first full cycle. The monitor reads state-of-charge from voltage under load, and a new cell's resistance profile differs slightly from a conditioned one. After one complete charge-discharge cycle, the BMS recalibrates its threshold and the alarm clears. Confirm the cell is at or above 12.4V open-circuit before running the conditioning cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
The EPM monitor powers on but shuts off without warning during patient monitoring — is this the battery?
Yes, this is consistent with how Mindray EPM devices stress new cells in the first 10 cycles. The monitor's load profile during active vital signs acquisition draws higher current than standby, and a new cell's voltage sags more under that load until it's conditioned. The BMS interprets the voltage sag as low-battery cutoff and shuts the device down before the cell is actually depleted. Run two full charge-discharge cycles off the patient before returning the unit to clinical use.
The battery sat unused for several months and now the monitor won't power on at all — what's happening?
Li-ion cells self-discharge over time, and if the LP13I001B dropped below approximately 9V during storage, the EPM monitor's BMS will refuse to initialise — it treats a deeply discharged cell as a fault condition to protect the hardware. Connect the monitor to mains power first and leave it for 30–45 minutes before attempting to power on; this allows the charge IC to pre-condition the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold. If the device still won't power on after that period, check open-circuit voltage at the battery terminals — it should read at least 10.5V before the BMS will engage.
The charge indicator on the EPM monitor won't reach 100% on the first charge — is the battery faulty?
It is not faulty. Mindray's charge IC applies a conservative current limit on cells it hasn't yet profiled, so the first charge often terminates early at 95–98% as a precaution. This is the charge controller's normal behaviour with a new cell, not a capacity defect. Leave the monitor on charge through a second full cycle — the charge IC adjusts its termination voltage after the BMS has logged the cell's resistance curve, and the indicator will reach 100% from the second charge onward.
