Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mobistel Cynus T2 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BTY26180)
This 3.7V, 2000mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original BTY26180 cell in the Mobistel Cynus T2 smartphone. It also fits the MT-9081W, SH26160Mobistel/STD, and SH26162Mobistel/STD variants. All share the same connector, voltage rail, and BMS handshake protocol.
- Cynus T2 platform fit: The Cynus T2, MT-9081W, and SH26160/SH26162 variants run the same 3.7V battery architecture with a shared connector pinout and fuel gauge communication line. One cell fits all listed models without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on Cynus T2 hardware. The BMS accepted the full charge sequence without triggering protection cutoff, and the fuel gauge IC registered capacity correctly after one complete cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Cynus T2 after a cell swap
The Cynus T2's fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell. When a new cell is installed, the IC misreads the actual remaining voltage and triggers a low-voltage shutdown earlier than expected. This typically shows as an abrupt power-off at 20–30% while the modem or display is under load. One full discharge cycle — draining to auto-shutdown, then charging uninterrupted to 100% — resets the coulomb counter against the new cell's curve.
Phone warm near the battery during the first few charging sessions
A new Li-ion cell starts with slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. During initial charging, the charge IC pushes current into that higher resistance, generating more heat than normal. This is not a fault — it settles after two or three full cycles as internal impedance drops. If the phone stays consistently warm beyond the third full charge, check that the charger output does not exceed 5V/1A for this device.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Cynus T2 powers off by itself at around 25% after fitting the new battery — is something wrong with the cell?
Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve it learned from the old, worn battery. It reads the new cell's voltage as critically low before it actually is, so the phone shuts down early. Run one full uninterrupted cycle — drain the phone to auto-shutdown, then charge straight to 100% without unplugging — and the coulomb counter will recalibrate to the new cell. Shutdowns at that percentage should stop after that single cycle.
The battery percentage on my Cynus T2 keeps jumping around erratically after the swap — it went from 60% to 40% in two minutes without me doing anything.
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against a cell it has no reference data for yet. The IC uses a stored discharge model to estimate remaining capacity; with a new cell, that model is wrong, so percentage readings are unstable until it gathers real data. The erratic jumping typically settles within one to two full discharge-charge cycles as the IC builds an accurate picture of the new cell's voltage curve. Complete two full cycles — drain to shutdown, charge to 100% each time — and percentage reporting will stabilise.
My Cynus T2 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in storage for a few months before I installed it.
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if a cell drops below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout mode to prevent damage — the phone will show no response when you press the power button. Connect the phone to a wall charger, not a USB port, and leave it for at least 30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell to bring it above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 2.8–3.0V, at which point the BMS will release lockout and the phone will begin a normal charge.
