Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Mobistel EL350 / EL350 Dual — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BTY26169)
This is a 3.7V, 1050mAh Li-ion cell built to fit the Mobistel EL350 and EL350 Dual smartphones. It replaces part number BTY26169 directly. Dimensions are 54.60 × 34.00 × 5.50mm — measure your original before ordering if you are unsure.
- EL350 and EL350 Dual compatibility: Both variants share the same battery bay dimensions and 3.7V voltage rail, so a single cell covers either handset. The connector pinout and BMS communication protocol are identical across both models.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the EL350 platform. The BMS accepted charge handshake without fault codes, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage threshold during deep discharge simulation.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC build an accurate discharge curve against the new cell before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated register.
Why the EL350 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The EL350 uses a fuel gauge IC that tracks battery state by learning the discharge curve of the installed cell over repeated cycles. When you fit a new cell, the IC is still running the learned curve from the old, degraded battery. The percentage shown on screen reflects that stale data, not the actual state of the new cell. One full discharge down to auto-shutdown, followed by a complete uninterrupted charge, forces the IC to rewrite its reference curve to match the new cell capacity.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the modem or display draws a current spike that the cell cannot sustain while holding its voltage above the BMS cutoff threshold. The gauge reads 25% but the terminal voltage collapses under load, triggering an immediate protection cutoff. It is not a faulty battery — it is the fuel gauge IC acting on stale calibration data from the previous cell. Run one full discharge-charge cycle without interruption and the shutdowns should stop; if terminal voltage still drops below 3.2V under normal screen-on load after two cycles, the cell warrants inspection.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Mobistel EL350 won't turn on at all after fitting the new battery — what's happening?
If the replacement cell sat in storage at a low state of charge, its voltage may have dropped below 2.5V, which triggers BMS lockout — the protection circuit blocks all current flow to prevent damage. Connect the phone to a wall charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on; the charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage climbs above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 2.9–3.0V. Once the phone shows a charging indicator, allow a full uninterrupted charge before booting. If no charging indicator appears after 40 minutes on a known-good charger, the BMS may be in a hard lockout requiring a brief connection to a bench supply at 3.0V to wake the cell.
The battery percentage on my EL350 keeps jumping around erratically — is the new cell defective?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC in the EL350 is calibrated to the discharge curve of the old cell, and when it encounters the different internal resistance profile of a new cell, it loses position and reports inconsistent percentages. Run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without unplugging early. That single cycle gives the coulomb counter enough reference data to lock onto the new cell's curve, and erratic readings typically resolve within one to two cycles after that.
Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my EL350 — why?
On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC may not negotiate the higher current rate because it defaults to a conservative trickle profile until it confirms the new cell's internal resistance is within an acceptable range. This is a BMS protection behaviour, not a fault with the charger or the cable. Charge the phone fully once at standard rate, then disconnect and reconnect to the fast charger — the IC re-evaluates the cell on each charge session and should accept the higher rate from the second cycle onward. If fast charging still does not engage after three full cycles, check that the charger output matches the EL350's charge IC specification.
