Replaces Li3717T42P3h5637116 for Telstra F158, F159, and X185 smartphones.
This 3.7V 1700mAh cell restores full power capacity to aging F-series phones that shut down prematurely or fail to charge.
Connector and locking tab match OEM housing; physical dimensions are 55.20 x 36.67 x 11.43mm with no modification needed.
We ran full discharge cycles on the F158 platform; BMS accepted charge current correctly and voltage held steady under modem load.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Telstra F158 / F159 / X185 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (Li3717T42P3h5637116)

This is a 3.7V, 1700mAh Li-ion cell built to fit the Telstra F158, F159, and X185 smartphones. It replaces OEM part number Li3717T42P3h5637116 directly. If your original cell no longer holds charge through a normal day, this is the replacement cell for that slot.

  • F158, F159, and X185 share this cell: All three models run the same 3.7V battery rail, use the same physical connector, and accept the same BMS handshake — which is why one part number covers the entire group.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS engaged correctly at both the low-voltage cutoff and the full-charge termination point. No false trips or charge interruptions were recorded during testing.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.

Why the F158 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The F158 uses a fuel gauge IC that builds its percentage model from the previous cell's discharge history. When you swap in a new cell, that stored model no longer matches the actual discharge curve of the replacement. The phone reads voltage and translates it to percentage using old data, so the numbers are wrong until the IC relearns. One full discharge from 100% down to auto-shutdown, followed by a full uninterrupted charge to 100%, resets the coulomb counter and lets the gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This is a voltage cliff issue. Under peak modem or screen load, the cell voltage drops sharply — faster than the fuel gauge IC predicted — and the BMS trips the output before the displayed percentage reaches zero. It looks like a random shutdown, but it is the BMS responding correctly to a voltage that fell below the cutoff threshold. The fix is the same recalibration cycle: run the phone down to auto-shutdown rather than plugging in early. After one or two full cycles, the gauge IC tracks the actual voltage curve and the shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

The phone turned off at around 25% and now won't turn back on — is the new battery dead already?

It is not dead. A deep-discharge BMS lockout is the most likely cause — if the cell voltage dropped below approximately 2.5V during or after that shutdown, the BMS latches into protection mode and blocks output entirely. Plug the phone into a wall charger (not a computer USB port) and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell long enough to bring voltage above the BMS recovery threshold before the phone will respond.

Fast charging stopped working after I put the new battery in — my old cell charged quickly but this one doesn't.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the phone's charge IC sometimes refuses to hand off to fast-charge protocol until it has completed one standard-rate charge. This is the BMS on the new cell presenting a higher impedance than the worn cell it replaced — the charge IC reads that and defaults to a lower current rate as a precaution. Run one full charge at the standard rate to completion, then fast charging will re-engage on subsequent cycles.

The battery percentage is jumping around — it shows 60%, then drops to 40%, then climbs back up without charging.

The fuel gauge IC is still running on the discharge model it built for your old cell. The new cell has a different internal resistance and discharge curve, so the voltage-to-percentage translation is inaccurate until the IC recalibrates. Do not top up or charge partway — run the phone from 100% down to auto-shutdown in a single session, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that cycle, the coulomb counter resets against the actual cell data and the percentage readings stabilise.
