This is a 3.7V, 1100mAh Li-ion cell that fits the Amazing T3 smartphone. It replaces the original battery when the phone no longer holds a charge or fails to power on. Capacity figure is taken directly from the product specification — 4.07Wh total energy.

  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake cleanly, and protection circuits tripped correctly at both low-voltage cutoff and overcharge thresholds.
  • First-cycle fuel gauge calibration: On first use after installation, disable fast charging if your T3 supports it. Run one full discharge down to auto-shutoff, then charge to 100% on standard current. This gives the fuel gauge IC a clean reference cycle against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins.

Why the T3 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The T3's fuel gauge IC builds its discharge model against the original cell over hundreds of cycles. When you install a new cell, that learned curve no longer matches the actual voltage-to-capacity relationship of the replacement. The IC will read state-of-charge from a mismatched map, so the percentage shown on screen drifts from reality. One full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by a complete charge resets the coulomb counter and lets the gauge relearn against the new cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the T3 after replacement

This happens when the cell's internal resistance causes the terminal voltage to sag below the cutoff threshold under load — typically when the modem transmits or the screen brightness peaks. The fuel gauge still shows 20–30% because it hasn't caught up to the real voltage collapse. It is not a faulty battery; it is the fuel gauge IC working from an uncalibrated curve. Run two full discharge-charge cycles and the shutoffs should move back toward the expected low-percentage range near 5%.

The T3 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months — is it dead?

Almost certainly not. Li-ion cells drop below 2.5V per cell during extended storage, which triggers BMS lockout to prevent damage — the phone will not power on from this state. Connect the T3 to a wall charger for 20–30 minutes without attempting to boot it; the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold first. Once the screen shows a charge indicator, the battery has cleared lockout and will charge normally.

The T3's percentage is jumping around erratically — it shows 60%, then suddenly 85%, then drops to 40% within minutes.

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against a cell discharge curve it has never seen before. The coulomb counter inherited data from the old degraded cell and is now mismatched to the new cell's voltage profile. Run two complete cycles — discharge to auto-shutoff, charge uninterrupted to 100% each time — and the percentage readout will stabilise. Do not interrupt the charge at any point during those two cycles.

Fast charging stopped working on the T3 after fitting this replacement — it only charges slowly now.

On the first cycle, some charge ICs treat an unrecognised BMS as a safety condition and fall back to standard 5V charging rather than negotiating a higher voltage. This is expected behaviour and not a fault with the cell. Fully discharge the T3 to auto-shutoff and run one complete standard charge cycle to 100%. After that initial calibration cycle, the fast-charge protocol should negotiate correctly on the next connection.
