Fits Motorola EVOLVE LTE two-way radio; replaces OEM battery part numbers BT000593A01 and BT000594A01.
3.85V lithium-ion cell rated 5800mAh delivers sustained RF output across extended field shifts without mid-transmission power sag.
Gold-plated spring contacts align vertically into the radio's battery slot with single-motion insertion; locking tab seats flush against radio housing.
We bench-tested this pack on an EVOLVE LTE dock charger; BMS accepted the new cell after first contact cycle with no fault LED.
If the charger dock shows a fault light on first insertion, remove the battery and wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, then reseat firmly — the Motorola platform requires a clean contact cycle to accept the new BMS handshake before charging begins.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Motorola EVOLVE LTE — 3.85V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BT000593A01)

This 3.85V, 5800mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the Motorola EVOLVE LTE portable two-way radio. It also fits the AR494948 and HK2157A variants. Voltage, connector, and BMS communication match the original Motorola specification.

  • EVOLVE LTE, AR494948, and HK2157A compatibility: All three share the same battery bay geometry, contact pin layout, and 3.85V BMS handshake protocol. One pack covers the full variant group without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through a full charge-discharge cycle on the EVOLVE LTE platform. The BMS accepted the dock handshake on first insertion and held voltage within spec across the complete cycle. No overcurrent trips were recorded during simulated PTT transmit loads.
  • First insertion contact check: If the charger dock shows a fault LED on the first insertion, remove the pack, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly. The EVOLVE LTE platform requires a clean contact cycle before the dock accepts the new BMS handshake and begins charging.

Why the EVOLVE LTE cuts out mid-transmission on a new battery

New Li-ion cells ship at storage voltage — typically around 3.6–3.7V — not at full charge. When the radio transmits, the RF amplifier draws a surge of current. If the cell hasn't been fully charged first, that surge pulls the terminal voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold and the radio drops the transmission. This is not a faulty pack. Charge the battery fully before first field use and the cutout will not recur.

Bar indicator showing one fewer bar than expected on a new BT000593A01

The EVOLVE LTE uses simple voltage-threshold steps to drive the bar indicator — each bar corresponds to a voltage band, not a percentage. A new pack at storage voltage sits in a lower band, so the display shows one or two bars even though the cell is not depleted. After a full charge cycle brings the pack to 4.2V, the indicator will read the correct level. No calibration procedure is needed — the display updates automatically as cell voltage rises.

Frequently Asked Questions

My EVOLVE LTE dock light blinks amber and never clears — is the new battery dead?

The dock is rejecting the pack because the cell arrived below the charger's acceptance voltage threshold, which is common after storage transit. Remove the battery, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and firmly reseat it. The clean contact cycle lets the dock complete the BMS handshake and begin charging. If the fault LED persists through two reseating attempts, place the pack in a known-good radio for 60 seconds — this can wake the BMS above the dock acceptance floor.

The EVOLVE LTE drops to low transmit power mid-shift even though the battery shows bars — what's happening?

Under sustained RF output, a cell with elevated impedance sags in voltage even when resting voltage looks fine. The radio's power control circuit reads that sag and steps down TX power to protect the amplifier. A new replacement pack with low cell impedance holds voltage flat under load and eliminates the step-down. If the issue continues with this pack, check that the contact pins in the radio bay are clean and making full contact — a resistive connection mimics cell impedance sag.

After the EVOLVE LTE battery sat unused in a drawer for several months, the radio won't power on at all — is it recoverable?

Extended storage can push Li-ion cells below the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 2.5V per cell, causing the BMS to lock out discharge entirely. Place the pack in the charger dock for at least 90 minutes without interruption — most Motorola docks apply a low trickle current that can recover a locked-out pack if the cell hasn't dropped below the hard cutoff floor. If the dock shows no LED activity at all after 90 minutes, the cell voltage has fallen below recovery range and the pack needs replacement.
