Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Motorola Moto E5 Play Go Edition — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (JE30)
The JE30 is a 3.8V, 2000mAh Li-Polymer cell for the Motorola Moto E5 Play Go Edition and its Dual SIM variants, including the TD-LTE and XT1920-15 models. It slots into the same bay as the original and connects to the same charge IC. Capacity is 7.6Wh — identical to the factory spec.
- Moto E5 Play Go Edition family fit: The Go Edition, Dual SIM, and TD-LTE variants all run the same 3.8V power rail and use the same JE30 connector pinout and BMS handshake — one cell covers all those SKUs without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on an XT1920-15 unit. The BMS accepted the cell on first connection, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.35V, and the fuel gauge IC registered the cell without a manual reset.
- First-cycle fast charge protocol: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes elevated current into an uncalibrated cell.
Why the Moto E5 Play Go Edition reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The fuel gauge IC on this phone stores a learned discharge curve from the previous cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-to-capacity relationship of the replacement. The gauge reads voltage correctly but maps it to the wrong percentage. One full discharge down to automatic shutdown followed by a full uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the IC to re-anchor its coulomb counter to the new cell. After that single cycle, percentage accuracy stabilises.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under the combined load of the modem radio and screen backlight — a voltage cliff the fuel gauge IC did not predict. The IC sees the percentage as 25% but the cell cannot sustain the voltage under that instantaneous current draw, so the BMS trips and cuts output. The fix is the same recalibration cycle: drain fully to automatic shutoff, charge uninterrupted to 100%, and let the IC build an accurate curve for the new cell. If shutdowns continue after two full cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a partial connection increases internal resistance and accelerates the voltage sag.

Frequently Asked Questions
The phone powers on but shuts off by itself when I open the camera or make a call — the battery still shows 25%
This is a voltage cliff issue. The camera sensor and modem together pull more current than the cell can sustain at low charge, and the voltage drops below the BMS cutoff faster than the fuel gauge predicts. Run one full recalibration cycle: discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the phone. After that cycle the fuel gauge IC maps percentage to the new cell's actual discharge curve, and the shutdowns stop.
The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before installation
A Li-Polymer cell in storage self-discharges slowly. If it drops below roughly 2.5V, the BMS latches into a protection lockout and blocks normal charging. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 30–45 minutes before attempting to power on. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, at which point the lockout releases and normal charging resumes.
Fast charging stopped working after I swapped the battery — the phone just charges slowly now
On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the phone's charge IC sometimes defaults to standard rate while it handshakes with the new cell's BMS. This is normal and temporary. Complete one full standard charge to 100%, restart the phone, then reconnect the charger. The USB-PD negotiation re-runs after the restart and fast charge resumes. If it still does not engage, confirm you are using the original Motorola charger — third-party adapters frequently fail the proprietary handshake on this platform.
