Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Google Pixel 4 XL — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (G020J-B)
This 3.85V, 3600mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original G020J-B cell in the Google Pixel 4 XL (model G020P). It restores full smartphone operation — calls, camera, display, and background services — after the factory cell has degraded through charge cycles. Dimensions are 97.30 × 48.36 × 4.80mm, matching the original fitment.
- Pixel 4 XL and G020P compatibility: Both device variants use the same battery bay dimensions, voltage rail, and BMS connector pinout. One cell fits both without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Pixel 4 XL's charge IC and confirmed the BMS handshake completes correctly. The protection circuit held cutoff at the expected low-voltage threshold without triggering a false over-current trip during screen-on modem load.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% on standard charging. This lets the Pixel's coulomb counter map its charge curve against the new cell before fast-charge current is applied to an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Pixel 4 XL after a cell swap
The Pixel 4 XL's fuel gauge IC inherits the state-of-charge model from the previous cell. When a new cell arrives with a different discharge curve, the IC misjudges the remaining capacity at the low end. Under modem or display load, the cell voltage drops sharply at that threshold and the phone cuts out before the OS can issue a low-battery warning. One full discharge-charge cycle forces the coulomb counter to relearn the new cell's actual voltage cliff, typically around 3.4–3.5V under load.
USB-PD fast charge not triggering on the first cycle after replacement
On the first charge after installation, the Pixel 4 XL's charge IC may default to trickle or standard 5V charging rather than negotiating USB-PD fast charge with the charger. This happens because the BMS on the new cell starts with no charge history and some charge controllers hold back high-current delivery until one baseline cycle completes. Plug into a genuine 18W USB-PD charger after the first full cycle and the fast-charge handshake should negotiate normally. If fast charge still doesn't appear in Battery settings, confirm the charger output with a USB meter — minimum 9V/2A is required.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Pixel 4 XL shuts off at around 25% after putting in the new battery — is the cell faulty?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The Pixel's fuel gauge IC is still using the discharge curve it built for the old, degraded cell — the new cell's voltage drops sharply at a different point, so the phone cuts power before the OS catches it. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% on standard charging without fast charge enabled. After that cycle the coulomb counter recalibrates and the premature shutdowns stop.
The battery percentage jumps around erratically — it reads 60%, then skips to 45% a few minutes later. What's causing that?
Erratic percentage readings after a cell swap are a fuel gauge IC recalibration issue, not a fault with the battery. The Pixel 4 XL's coulomb counter is interpolating against the old cell's stored charge curve, so real-time voltage readings don't map cleanly to the percentages it's reporting. Complete two full discharge-charge cycles on standard (non-fast) charging to let the IC build a fresh model for the new cell. Percentage readings typically stabilise within those two cycles.
The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few weeks before installation. How do I recover it?
If the cell discharged below approximately 2.5V during storage, the BMS has locked out to prevent damage and the phone will show no response on the charger. Connect to a 5W charger — not fast charge — and leave it for 45–60 minutes without pressing any buttons. The charge IC trickle-charges a locked-out cell at low current until voltage recovers above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 3.0V per cell. Once the charging indicator appears on screen, let it complete a full charge cycle before use.
