Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy S10E — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (EB-BG970ABU)

This is a 3100mAh (11.94Wh) lithium-polymer replacement battery for the Samsung Galaxy S10E. It fits the SM-G970F/DS, SM-G9708/DS, and SM-G970N variants. Voltage is 3.85V nominal, matching the original cell specification.

  • S10E variant coverage: The SM-G970F/DS, SM-G9708/DS, and SM-G970N all share the same battery bay dimensions and BMS connector pinout. One cell, EB-BG970ABU, covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on an SM-G970F unit. The BMS handshake completed on first connection, the charge IC accepted the cell without fault codes, and the fuel gauge IC began tracking state-of-charge correctly after one full cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on a replacement S10E cell

The S10E's fuel gauge IC builds its state-of-charge map from the previous cell's discharge curve. When a new cell goes in, the stored curve no longer matches actual cell voltage under load. The modem and display draw current spikes that the old curve predicts the cell can handle — but the new cell hits its voltage cliff earlier. The phone shuts down to protect the cell even though the percentage readout still shows charge remaining. One full discharge-to-empty and a complete recharge resets the coulomb counter and eliminates the premature cutoff.

USB-PD fast charge not triggering on the first cycle after replacement

After a cell swap, Samsung's charge IC defaults to a conservative current limit until it receives a valid BMS handshake and logs a complete charge cycle. Plugging into an Adaptive Fast Charging or USB-PD charger may show normal charging speed instead of the fast-charge indicator on that first cycle. This is a BMS initialisation behaviour, not a fault with the charger or the replacement cell. Complete one full slow charge cycle first — fast charging resumes normally on subsequent cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my S10E showing the wrong battery percentage after I put in a new cell?

The fuel gauge IC on the S10E stores a discharge curve calibrated to your old battery. After a cell swap, that curve no longer matches the new cell's actual voltage profile, so the percentage readout drifts or jumps. We confirmed this on the bench — the coulomb counter needs one full discharge and recharge to remap itself. Run the phone down to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging disabled, and the percentage will stabilise.

My S10E gets noticeably warm near the bottom of the phone during the first few charges after replacement — is that normal?

A new high-impedance cell causes the charge IC to work slightly harder during the first few charge cycles, which generates a small amount of additional heat at the battery contact area. We measured this during bench testing and the temperature stayed within safe operating range. The warmth typically decreases after two or three full charge cycles as the cell's internal impedance settles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or the screen dims unexpectedly during charging, disconnect immediately and check that the battery connector is fully seated.

My S10E won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for several months before installation — what do I do?

Li-polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V, the BMS will have entered a lockout state to prevent further discharge damage. Plug the phone into its original Samsung charger and leave it connected for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on — the charge IC will apply a trickle current to bring the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold. Once the cell reaches roughly 3.0V, the BMS unlocks and normal charging resumes. If the charging indicator never appears after 30 minutes, check that the battery flex connector is fully clicked into the board.
