Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Neffos C9A / TP706A — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (NBL-40A2920)
This is a 3.85V, 2850mAh (10.97Wh) Li-Polymer replacement cell for the Neffos C9A and TP706A smartphones. It matches the OEM part number NBL-40A2920 and fits the original battery bay without modification. Voltage, capacity, and connector position match the factory specification.
- C9A and TP706A compatibility: Both models run the same 3.85V power rail, use the same flex connector pinout, and share the NBL-40A2920 footprint. The BMS handshake with the charge IC is identical across both variants, so one cell covers the full range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the C9A platform and confirmed the BMS communicated correctly with the fuel gauge IC throughout. No false low-battery cutoffs triggered during the test sequence.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after installation: On first use, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. The fuel gauge IC was calibrated to your old cell's discharge curve — letting it map the new cell at low current first prevents early cutoff errors and erratic percentage readings.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Neffos C9A after a cell swap
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity fault. Under peak load — active LTE radio, screen at full brightness, or a background sync burst — the new cell draws enough current to cause a brief voltage sag. If the fuel gauge IC hasn't completed a full calibration cycle, it reads that sag as a terminal low-voltage event and orders a shutdown even though charge remains. Run one full discharge to around 3.4V under normal use, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter resets its learned curve and the premature shutdowns stop.
Phone won't power on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge during storage. If this battery shipped or sat unused long enough to drop below roughly 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters a lockout state to prevent damage. The phone will show no response to the power button and may not register on the charger immediately. Connect to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage climbs above the BMS recovery threshold, typically 2.8–3.0V, at which point normal charging resumes and the phone will power on.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Neffos C9A shows the battery percentage jumping around erratically after I installed the new cell — is something wrong with it?
Nothing is wrong with the cell itself. The fuel gauge IC on the C9A uses a coulomb counter that was calibrated to your old battery's specific discharge curve, and that learned curve no longer matches the new cell's behaviour. The result is erratic percentage readings until the IC rebuilds its model. Run one uninterrupted full discharge — let the phone shut itself off — then charge to 100% in one go without unplugging early. The fuel gauge recalibrates against the new curve during that single cycle, and percentage reporting stabilises from there.
Fast charging stopped working on my C9A after I put in the replacement battery — the phone only charges slowly now.
This is a first-cycle BMS behaviour, not a permanent fault. On the initial charge after installation, the charge IC sends a protocol handshake to the new BMS to negotiate the fast-charge current. Some cells require one standard-rate charge cycle before the BMS confirms it will accept higher current — it's a safety gate, not a defect. Charge the phone once at standard rate to 100%, unplug, and then plug back in. On the second charge cycle the fast-charge handshake completes and full charging speed returns.
The Neffos C9A feels warm near the battery compartment while charging with the new cell — should I be concerned?
A new Li-Polymer cell typically has slightly higher internal impedance than a cell that has been cycled several times. Higher impedance means more energy is lost as heat during the initial charge cycles, particularly when the charge IC is pushing current into a full cell near the top of the charge curve. This warmth is normal for the first three to five cycles and reduces as the cell's impedance drops with use. If the back of the phone becomes hot to the touch — rather than just warm — plug into a slower 5W charger for the remaining break-in cycles and check that no case or cover is trapping heat against the battery area.
