Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Oppo Realme 8 Pro — 3.87V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BLP837)
The BLP837 is a 4300mAh Li-Polymer cell at 3.87V, replacing the original battery in the Realme 8 Pro smartphone. It restores power to the display, processor, and modem when the original cell has degraded through repeated charge cycles. Capacity is rated at 16.64Wh and dimensions match the original at 89.80 × 62.50 × 4.40mm.
- Realme 8 Pro fitment: The BLP837 uses the same connector pinout and cell footprint as the factory unit. The BMS communicates over the same data line the Realme 8 Pro's charge IC expects, so the phone recognises the pack without throwing a battery authentication warning.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and load sequences on the bench. The BMS held protection thresholds correctly — no premature cutoff under screen-on modem load, and overvoltage cutoff triggered cleanly at the top of the charge curve.
- First-cycle fast charge handling: On first use after installation, disable SUPERVOOC fast charging for one full discharge and recharge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated coulomb counter.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Realme 8 Pro after a cell swap
The Realme 8 Pro's fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the old cell. When a new BLP837 goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the new cell's actual voltage-versus-capacity profile. Under modem or display load, the cell voltage drops faster than the IC predicts, hitting the hardware cutoff while the OS still shows 20–30% remaining. One full slow-charge cycle lets the coulomb counter recalibrate against the real curve and eliminates most of these shutdowns.
SUPERVOOC fast charge not activating on the first cycle after replacement
SUPERVOOC handshake requires the charge IC to confirm BMS state before stepping voltage up. On a fresh cell that has never completed a full cycle, the BMS presents higher internal impedance, and the charge IC falls back to standard 5V/2A input as a protection measure. This is not a fault — it is the charge IC behaving correctly. Complete one full standard charge to 100%, allow the pack to discharge naturally, then reconnect the SUPERVOOC adapter and the fast-charge handshake will proceed normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Realme 8 Pro is showing the wrong battery percentage after I put the new BLP837 in — the number keeps jumping around. What's causing this?
The fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve it learned from the old, degraded cell. The new BLP837 has a different voltage profile, so the coulomb counter is mapping estimated charge against incorrect reference data. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using fast charging. After that single calibration cycle, the percentage reading stabilises.
The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before installation. Is the cell dead?
If the BLP837 self-discharged below approximately 2.5V per cell during storage, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks output to protect the cell from damage. Connect the phone to a standard 5V charger — not a fast charger — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power on. The charge IC will trickle current into the pack until the BMS sees a safe voltage, at which point it releases the lockout and the phone boots normally.
The Realme 8 Pro feels warm near the battery area during the first few charges with the new BLP837. Should I be concerned?
A new Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a cell that has completed several cycles. The charge IC pushes current into that higher resistance, and the resulting heat is normal for the first two or three charges. Warmth — not hot to touch — is expected. If the phone becomes too hot to hold comfortably, disconnect the charger immediately and check that you are not using a third-party cable with no current regulation. After three to five standard charge cycles, impedance drops and the warmth disappears.
