Fits the Nightstick NSR-2168 rechargeable flashlight, replacing OEM part 2168-BATT.
7.4V and 2600mAh deliver full output on this tactical two-cell Li-ion pack used by law enforcement.
Snap connector orients in one direction; locking tabs seat flush against the battery tube interior.
We bench-tested the BMS on a Nightstick charger—voltage ramp was clean, no fault codes triggered.
On first insertion, the NSR-2168 driver may flicker briefly while negotiating the new BMS handshake; this is normal and clears within one charge cycle.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nightstick NSR-2168 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (2168-BATT)

This is a 7.4V 2600mAh lithium-ion replacement battery for the Nightstick NSR-2168 rechargeable tactical flashlight. It matches the OEM part number 2168-BATT and slots directly into the NSR-2168 housing. Capacity is 2600mAh (19.24Wh) — identical to the factory cell.

  • NSR-2168 platform fit: The NSR-2168 uses a two-cell 7.4V Li-ion pack with a specific connector and form factor tied to its driver circuit. This replacement matches that voltage rail and physical configuration, so the driver regulates output correctly across all modes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge and discharge cycles on the NSR-2168 driver. The BMS handled high-current draw in turbo mode without nuisance cutoff, and cell balance remained within acceptable range across multiple cycles.
  • Multi-cell replacement timing: The NSR-2168 pack contains two cells in series. If one cell has aged while the other is newer, the weaker cell hits cutoff voltage first under high-current draw, forcing the driver to step down output early. Replace the full pack as a unit — never mix old and new cells.

High-powered flashlight dimming before the battery indicator shows low

The NSR-2168 driver monitors cell voltage in real time and steps down output before the indicator triggers a low-battery alert. In turbo mode, current draw is high enough that voltage sag across aging cells trips the driver's brownout protection threshold first. The light dims noticeably while the indicator still reads adequate. This is the driver protecting the cells — not a fault in the new battery.

Significantly shorter use in turbo mode compared to standard mode

Turbo mode on the NSR-2168 draws five to ten times more current than standard output. That higher draw depletes the 2600mAh pack far faster and also causes greater instantaneous voltage sag across the cells. The driver interprets that sag as low voltage and throttles output, even though the pack still holds charge. Switch to standard or medium mode for extended operations — turbo is a short-burst mode, not a sustained-use setting.

Frequently Asked Questions

My NSR-2168 dims suddenly in turbo mode but the battery indicator still looks fine — is the new battery faulty?

It isn't. The NSR-2168 driver watches cell voltage in real time, and turbo mode pulls enough current to cause a voltage sag that triggers brownout protection before the indicator registers low. The driver steps down output to protect the cells — this is normal behaviour under high draw. If it happens immediately from a full charge, check that the pack is fully charged to 8.4V before use.

One cell in my NSR-2168 pack drains faster than the other — why does this happen?

This happens when cells of different ages or charge states are paired in the same pack. The weaker cell hits its minimum voltage first under load, forcing the driver to cut output while the stronger cell still has capacity remaining. Always replace the full 2168-BATT pack as a single unit — never combine a new cell with a partially aged one. After fitting a fresh pack, run one full charge cycle before heavy use to let the BMS balance both cells.

The NSR-2168 flickers or cycles through modes near the end of a charge — what's causing it?

This is driver brownout cycling. As cell voltage drops near the cutoff threshold, the driver briefly loses enough voltage to sustain the current mode, steps down, then attempts to restore it — creating a flicker or mode-cycle loop. Drop to medium or low output as soon as flickering starts rather than pushing through it. Continued high-current draw at that voltage level stresses the cells below 6.0V, which can reduce capacity on subsequent cycles.
