Fits Scangrip Slim model 03.5612, replaces OEM battery part 03.5388.
3.7V lithium-ion cell at 2600mAh delivers consistent output throughout the charge cycle on this single-cell light.
Cylindrical cell slides into the Slim's end-cap tube and locks via internal spring contact with no polarity reversal possible.
We bench-tested this cell in the Slim's driver circuit; the BMS held regulation stable through mid-discharge before stepping down at voltage floor.
On first insertion, seat the cell fully into the tube until the spring contact clicks — a loose seat causes intermittent cutoff in turbo mode.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

SCANGRIP Slim — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (03.5388)

This is a 3.7V, 2600mAh (9.62Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the SCANGRIP Slim work light (03.5612). It replaces OEM part 03.5388 when the original cell degrades and can no longer hold a usable charge. Swap it in and the Slim returns to full output levels.

  • Slim platform fit: The 03.5612 Slim uses a single 18650-format Li-ion cell at 3.7V nominal. The driver circuit and BMS handshake are tuned to that voltage rail — substituting a different chemistry or voltage causes the driver to misread state-of-charge and step down output prematurely.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Slim platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, protection cutoffs triggered correctly at low-voltage threshold, and the driver held full output until the expected depletion point.
  • Turbo mode draw: The Slim's turbo mode pulls significantly more current than standard mode from a single cell. Keep the cell contacts clean — oxidation on a single-cell light has an outsized effect on voltage sag under high-current draw, causing the driver to step down output even with remaining capacity.

Why the SCANGRIP Slim dims before the battery indicator shows low

The Slim's driver runs brownout protection that steps down output before the cell hits its hard cutoff voltage. This protects the cell from deep discharge but means the light visibly dims while the indicator still shows charge remaining. It is not a faulty cell — it is the driver throttling current draw to keep the cell above approximately 3.0V. If you see this earlier than expected, check that the cell contacts are clean and making solid connection.

New battery fitted but Slim still shows weak output from the start

A new cell that has been stored for an extended period can arrive at a low state of charge — sometimes below 3.4V — which puts it within the driver's reduced-output window immediately. The Slim driver reads cell voltage directly and throttles output when voltage is low, regardless of whether the cell is new or old. Charge the replacement fully before first use and confirm the charger reaches the 4.2V termination point. If the charger indicator never flips to complete, the charger contacts or the cell itself should be checked.

Frequently Asked Questions

My SCANGRIP Slim is cycling through modes on its own near the end of a charge — is that a fault?

That is the driver entering brownout cycling, not a defect. When cell voltage drops toward the protection threshold, the driver repeatedly attempts full output, sags the voltage further, steps down, then tries again — producing a flickering or mode-cycling effect. Switch to a lower output mode immediately; this keeps current draw low enough that the cell stays above the sag threshold and the light stabilises. Charge the cell as soon as possible after this happens.

The Slim's turbo mode seems to drain the battery far faster than standard mode — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Turbo mode draws several times more current from the cell than standard mode does. A single 2600mAh cell has a fixed energy reserve; higher current draw depletes that reserve in a fraction of the time. The cell voltage also sags more sharply under high current, which causes the driver to step down output sooner. Use turbo in short bursts and drop to standard mode for extended work to get the most from each charge.

I replaced the battery in my SCANGRIP Slim but the new cell seems to drain noticeably faster than the original did when new — what causes that?

The most common cause is contact oxidation on the cell terminals or in the light's battery bay. Oxidation adds resistance, which increases heat and voltage drop under load — the driver compensates by stepping output down sooner, making the cell appear to deplete faster. Clean the contact points with isopropyl alcohol on a cotton swab, let them dry fully, then refit the cell. If drain rate is still abnormal, confirm the charger is terminating at 4.2V, as a cell that never reaches full charge will always show shortened output duration.
