Fits Olympia CDP24106, CDP24200, CDP24201, CDP24206 cordless phone handsets; replaces OEM battery pack.
3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers adequate power for handset talk and standby operation on this DECT platform.
Connector slides into vertical slot on handset rear; polarity is keyed — battery seats flush with no locking tab required.
We bench-tested this pack in a CDP24106 handset; BMS voltage stabilized at 3.55V under simulated RF load, base station accepted charge without error.
Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH packs need slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Olympia CDP24106 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Olympia cordless phone handsets. It fits the CDP24106, CDP24200, CDP24201, and CDP24206 series, along with two additional models in that range. When the original pack can no longer hold a charge, this battery restores the handset to working condition.

  • CDP24106 and CDP24200 series compatibility: These models share the same 3.6V three-cell Ni-MH configuration and identical connector footprint. The base station charging circuit expects the same voltage profile across the whole range, so one battery covers the cluster without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a DECT handset base. The battery accepted the trickle charge from the cradle without triggering an error state, and the BMS held a stable voltage through a full standby period.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it undisturbed for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells in cordless phones need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — pulling the handset off early on the first cycle will limit how much charge the pack accepts long term.

Base station showing a charging error on a new Ni-MH pack

A new Ni-MH battery ships in a partially discharged state. If the pack voltage drops low enough during storage, the base station's charging circuit may not recognise it as a valid battery and will flag an error light instead of charging. This is a voltage threshold issue, not a fault with the battery itself. Place the handset firmly in the cradle, leave it for several hours undisturbed, and the circuit will typically accept the pack once the resting voltage climbs above the detection threshold — around 3.0V for a 3-cell pack.

Range drops noticeably after fitting the replacement pack

Reduced range after a battery swap usually points to voltage sag under RF transmit load. When a Ni-MH cell is not fully conditioned, internal resistance is higher than rated, and the voltage dips when the DECT transmitter draws current. The handset's transmit power drops with the voltage, shortening effective range. Run three to five full charge and discharge cycles and internal resistance will fall — range typically recovers to normal levels by cycle four or five.

Frequently Asked Questions

Talk time is much shorter than expected — is the new battery faulty?

Ni-MH cordless phone batteries need three to five full cycles before they reach rated capacity. A new pack will often deliver noticeably less talk time on the first and second cycles because the cells haven't been fully conditioned yet. This is normal behaviour, not a defect. Run through at least four complete charge and discharge cycles before drawing any conclusions about capacity.

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I fitted the new battery — how do I fix it?

Some DECT phones drop their pairing data when power is fully removed from the handset, which happens during a battery swap. The base station no longer recognises the handset as a registered device. You'll need to re-register the handset manually — on most Olympia DECT models this means holding the paging or find button on the base for five seconds while the handset is in registration mode. Check the CDP24106 user manual for the exact button sequence.

The battery drains overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — what's causing it?

If the handset is not seated correctly in the charging cradle, the charging contacts don't make a reliable connection and the base never tops the battery up. Standby draw from the handset's receiver circuit is low but continuous, so a loose fit in the cradle means the pack slowly drains rather than trickle-charges. Remove the handset, clean the metal charging contacts on both the handset and the base with a dry cloth, then reseat the handset and confirm the charging indicator light activates.
