This is a 3.6V 700mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the SBC ID2820 and ID282H cordless DECT handsets. It slots into the handset battery compartment and restores talk time and standby operation when the original cell no longer holds charge. Capacity listed is from product data: 700mAh (2.52Wh).

• ID2820 and ID282H compatibility: Both models use the same 3.6V single-cell Ni-MH pack with identical connector pinout and physical footprint — 48.46 × 31.16 × 10.67mm. The base station charges via the same contact rail on both handsets, so one battery spec covers the whole ID28 handset line.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on the ID2820 base station and confirmed the charging circuit accepted it without error. The BMS on the base held the trickle charge correctly across multiple cycles with no cutoff faults.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

New NiMH cells often underperform for the first three to five full charge-discharge cycles. This is normal — the cell hasn't yet reached full electrochemical activation. Each full cycle builds capacity until the cell stabilises near its rated 700mAh. Run the handset to low charge and return it to the base for a full charge at least three times before judging actual talk time.

Base station charge light not activating after battery swap

A NiMH cell sitting in storage can drop below the voltage threshold the base station expects before initiating a charge cycle. If the charge indicator stays off, remove the handset, wait ten seconds, and reseat it firmly so both contact rails are flush. If the base still won't initiate, connect a USB charger directly to the handset if the model supports it — this pre-charges the cell above the 3.0V acceptance floor and the base will take over from there.
