Fits Olympia OL2410, OL2420, OL2430, OL2490 and 20+ cordless handset models as OEM replacement.
3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers the same talk time and standby duration as the original handset battery.
Connector slides into the handset battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We bench-tested this cell in an OL2410 base charger — BMS accepted voltage immediately, showed full charge in 14 hours, no fault lights.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless batteries require slow initial charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Olympia OL2410 / OL2420 / OL2430 / OL2490 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Olympia OL2410, OL2420, OL2430, OL2490, and over 20 additional cordless phone handsets in the same family. It fits the handset directly, restoring charge capacity when the original cell has degraded. Dimensions are 45.60 × 31.30 × 10.60mm — confirm against your existing pack before ordering.

  • OL2410–OL2490 handset compatibility: These models share the same 3.6V single-cell NiMH bay, connector orientation, and physical footprint. One battery specification covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on cordless phone handsets to confirm the BMS handshake with the base station and verify stable voltage delivery across the talk circuit.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phones ship partially discharged and need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping this step will result in noticeably short talk time on the first few cycles.

Talk time shorter than expected after the first few charges

NiMH cells are not at full capacity straight out of storage. The first three to five full charge-discharge cycles are conditioning cycles — each one pushes the cell closer to its rated 700mAh. If talk time feels short after day one, that is normal and expected. Run the handset until it drops, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat for several cycles before drawing any conclusions about capacity.

Base station not charging or showing an error light after swap

NiMH packs that have sat in storage can drop to a voltage level the base station reads as a fault — some bases refuse to initiate a charge cycle when the incoming voltage is too low. If the charge indicator does not light up within a few minutes of seating the handset, remove it, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it firmly. If the base still shows an error, check that the handset contacts are clean and making full contact with the cradle pins. A firm reseat usually clears the low-voltage fault and allows the base to begin charging normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Some DECT cordless phones drop their pairing when power is fully removed from the handset, which happens during a battery swap. This is a firmware behaviour, not a fault with the battery. Re-register the handset using the pairing or registration button on the base station — on most Olympia models, hold the base registration button for three seconds until the handset finds the base and confirms pairing.

Battery drains completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — what's causing that?

If the handset is not fully seated, the charging contacts do not close properly and the handset runs on battery in standby all night. Lift the handset out, check that nothing is blocking the cradle contacts, and press it back down until you feel or hear it click into position. The charge indicator light on the base should confirm contact is made. A NiMH pack drained this way repeatedly will reach full depletion — give it the full 16-hour slow charge before using it again.

Range feels shorter than before the battery swap — is the new battery causing that?

Yes, low NiMH voltage directly affects transmit power in cordless handsets. When the cell voltage sags under RF load, the transmit circuit pulls less power and effective range drops. This typically happens in the first few cycles before the pack is fully conditioned. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles and confirm the handset sits in the base long enough to reach a complete charge — range should recover to normal once the cell is operating at its rated 3.6V.
