Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Oppo K9X / PGCM10 — 3.87V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BLP913)
The BLP913 is a 3.87V, 4800mAh Li-Polymer cell that fits the Oppo K9X, K9x 5G 2021, and PGCM10 smartphones. It replaces the original cell when capacity has dropped or the battery no longer holds a usable charge. Capacity figure is 18.58Wh as rated on the cell.
- K9X / PGCM10 platform fit: These three model designations share the same PCB layout, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — all route to the same BLP913 cell. No adapter or rewiring needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a K9X unit and monitored BMS handshake, charge current ramp, and cutoff voltage. The BMS accepted the cell and held charge termination at the correct upper threshold without error flags.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC calibrates its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve. Skipping this step causes the OS to report inaccurate percentages until recalibration completes.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the K9X after a cell swap
This is a voltage cliff problem, not a capacity problem. The new cell's discharge curve differs slightly from the aged cell the fuel gauge IC was calibrated against. Under high-current load — modem transmission, screen at full brightness, GPS active — the cell voltage drops faster than the IC predicts. When voltage falls below the BMS protection threshold before the percentage counter reaches zero, the phone cuts power instantly. One full discharge-charge cycle with fast charging off resets the coulomb counter and eliminates most cliff shutdowns.
USB-PD or VOOC fast charge not accepted on first cycle after replacement
After a cell swap, the charge IC may fall back to standard 5V/1A input on the first cycle. The proprietary VOOC handshake requires the BMS to report a valid cell state before the adapter steps up current. A new, uncalibrated cell sometimes returns a state-of-charge value that triggers a conservative fallback. Charge the phone fully at standard rate on that first cycle — by the second cycle, the BMS reports a stable cell state and VOOC negotiation completes normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Oppo K9X shuts off at around 25% after I put in a new battery — why does it cut out before hitting zero?
This is a voltage cliff: the new cell's voltage drops faster under modem and display load than the fuel gauge IC expects, so the BMS trips the protection cutoff before the percentage counter reaches 0%. The IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. Run one full discharge-charge cycle with fast charging disabled — this lets the coulomb counter remap against the new BLP913 curve and eliminates the premature cutoff on subsequent cycles.
The K9X battery percentage is jumping around erratically after the swap — it reads 60%, then suddenly 45%, then back to 55%.
The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating its coulomb counter against the new cell. The old cell had a worn discharge curve baked into the IC's reference — the new BLP913 cell discharges differently, so percentage estimates are unreliable until the IC completes at least one full reference cycle. Discharge the phone to below 5% and charge it to 100% in a single uninterrupted cycle at standard charge rate. After that cycle, percentage reporting stabilises.
The K9X gets noticeably warm near the battery area during the first few charges after replacement — is the new cell faulty?
A new Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat during the first few charge cycles. This is normal and reduces after 3–5 cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If the phone remains hot to the touch beyond the fifth full charge, check that the charge rate has not defaulted to maximum — temporarily switching off VOOC in settings and charging at standard rate will confirm whether the heat is cycle-related or charge-rate-related.
