Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Poco X4 GT — 3.87V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BM5G)
This is a 3.87V, 4950mAh Li-Polymer cell built to the BM5G specification for the Poco X4 GT smartphone. It replaces the original cell when capacity has dropped, the phone shuts down unexpectedly, or the battery no longer holds a usable charge. Rated at 19.16Wh, it restores full device function at the same voltage and physical footprint as the factory cell.
- X4 GT fit: The X4 GT uses a dedicated connector layout and a BMS that handshakes with the Dimensity 8100 power management IC. The BM5G cell matches that connector pinout, cell impedance range, and charge termination voltage — so the fuel gauge IC accepts it without throwing a battery error flag.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on the X4 GT platform, monitoring BMS handshake, charge termination at 4.40V, and low-voltage cutoff behaviour. The protection circuit tripped correctly at the expected floor and recovery charging resumed without manual intervention.
- First-cycle calibration on the X4 GT: After installation, disable fast charging for one full discharge-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. One slow cycle lets the coulomb counter remap to the new cell before high-current fast charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.
Why the X4 GT reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The X4 GT uses a coulomb counter and a stored discharge curve to calculate the percentage shown on screen. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve still reflects the old, degraded cell. The mismatch causes the OS to report inflated or deflated percentages until the IC collects fresh data. One complete discharge to auto-shutdown and a full charge to 100% without interruption resets the curve and brings the reading back into accurate range.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet recalibrated the voltage-to-percentage mapping for the new cell. The X4 GT's modem and display draw sharp current spikes that cause cell voltage to sag briefly below the shutdown threshold — even though the reported percentage still looks safe. The phone reads that voltage dip as a critical low and cuts power immediately. Run one full uninterrupted discharge-to-shutdown cycle, then charge straight to 100% — this resets the cutoff mapping and eliminates the premature shutdown.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Poco X4 GT won't power on at all after the new BM5G battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?
A cell stored below roughly 2.5V triggers BMS lockout, and the phone will show no response to the power button or charger. Plug into a wall adapter — not a PC port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without touching it. The BMS uses a trickle pre-charge circuit to bring the cell back above the lockout threshold before switching to normal charge current. Once the screen shows a charge indicator, the cell has recovered and will cycle normally.
Fast charging stopped working on my X4 GT right after I fitted the replacement battery — the phone just slow-charges now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the X4 GT's charge IC sometimes does not complete the USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge handshake because the new BMS has not yet passed its internal validation check. Fully discharge the phone to auto-shutdown, then charge it to 100% on the original Poco fast charger without unplugging mid-cycle. After that single complete cycle the BMS handshake completes correctly and fast charging re-enables at full power.
The battery percentage on my X4 GT keeps jumping around erratically — it'll drop 10% instantly, then jump back up.
Erratic percentage jumps point directly to the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against an unfamiliar cell discharge curve. The IC's stored model no longer matches the new cell's impedance and voltage profile, so its estimates swing widely under load. Let the phone discharge fully to auto-shutdown once — do not top up mid-cycle — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single full cycle gives the coulomb counter enough data to build an accurate model and the percentage reading stabilises.
