Fits Oppo R8200, R8205, R8207, R1C and replaces OEM battery part number BLP587.
This 3.8V, 2400mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full capacity to phones reporting degraded charge or sudden shutdowns.
Connector seats flush into the R8200 battery slot with no adapter needed; locking tab secures the cell flush against the contact plate.
We bench-tested this pack on an R8200 motherboard; the BMS accepted the cell without fault codes and delivered stable 3.8V under standby load.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Oppo R8200 Series — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BLP587)

This is a 3.8V, 2400mAh lithium-polymer cell for the Oppo R8200, R8205, R8207, and R1C smartphones. It replaces part number BLP587 when the original cell can no longer hold adequate charge through a normal day. Dimensions are 78.25 × 60.75 × 3.40mm — verify these against your existing cell before fitting.

  • R8200, R8205, R8207, R1C compatibility: These four models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. Swapping between them uses the same BLP587 cell without any modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on an R8200 unit and confirmed the BMS accepted charge current, balanced at full capacity, and reported state-of-charge correctly after two full cycles.
  • First-cycle fast-charge hold-off: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC needs to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging runs against an uncalibrated coulomb counter.

Why the R8200 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The fuel gauge IC on the R8200 stores a learned discharge curve from the old cell. When you install a new cell, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-to-capacity relationship of the fresh lithium-polymer cell. The result is percentage readings that jump, stall, or cap out well below 100%. One full discharge to around 3.0V followed by a complete charge to 4.35V forces the IC to recalibrate against the new curve.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% remaining on the new cell

This happens when the modem, display backlight, or a background process pulls a brief high-current spike the cell cannot sustain at that state of charge. Voltage drops sharply below the BMS cutoff threshold — around 3.0V per cell — and the phone shuts off even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. It is most common in the first few cycles before the fuel gauge IC has mapped the cell's actual voltage cliff. Run two full discharge-charge cycles and the shutoffs typically stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Oppo R8200 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

The BLP587 cell's BMS locks out when voltage drops below roughly 2.5V from self-discharge in storage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power on. Once the cell recovers to around 3.0V the BMS releases the lockout and the phone will boot normally.

Fast charging worked before I swapped the battery, but now the R8200 is only charging slowly — what changed?

On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the BMS on the new cell often rejects the handshake required for Oppo's proprietary fast-charge protocol and falls back to standard 5V charging. This is not a fault with the charger or cable. Complete one full standard charge cycle, let the phone discharge to below 20%, then charge again — the fast-charge handshake typically negotiates correctly from the second cycle onward.

The battery percentage on my R8200 is jumping around erratically — it reads 45%, then suddenly 67%, then drops to 30% without much use. What's causing this?

The coulomb counter inside the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. The new 2400mAh BLP587 cell has a different voltage-capacity profile, so the IC is mapping charge state incorrectly. Run the phone down until it shuts off automatically, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the phone. That single full cycle gives the IC enough data to re-anchor its curve to the new cell.
