Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF2 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (DMW-BLD10)
This 7.4V, 1050mAh Li-ion battery replaces the DMW-BLD10 in the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF2 family of compact mirrorless cameras. It fits the GF2, GF2CK, GF2CS, GF2CR, and over 58 additional Lumix variants that share the same battery bay and connector. Physical dimensions are 51.83 × 36.27 × 13.83mm — identical to the original cell.
- GF2 series compatibility: Every model in the DMC-GF2 line uses the same 7.4V battery rail, BLD10-format connector, and BMS handshake protocol. One replacement covers the entire camera variant range without any modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the GF2 body and OEM charger. The BMS accepted charge from both, reported accurate state-of-charge after one full cycle, and held voltage above the camera's low-battery cutoff through sustained burst shooting.
- First-use charge cycle for GF2 BMS calibration: Charge this cell fully inside the camera body or OEM charger before your first shoot. The GF2's BMS maps remaining battery percentage against the discharge curve of a fresh cell — skipping this step causes erratic percentage readings from the first frame.
Battery percentage jumping on the GF2 display after fitting a new cell
The GF2 body maps its battery indicator against fixed voltage thresholds calibrated to a known discharge curve. A new replacement cell can have a slightly different internal resistance profile, so the camera misreads mid-discharge voltage and shows erratic percentage jumps. This is a calibration issue, not a faulty battery. Run one complete charge-and-discharge cycle through the camera body — the BMS relearns the curve and percentage display stabilises from the second cycle onward.
GF2 showing dead-battery icon on a replacement cell that has charge
Some GF2 bodies trip a low-voltage lockout if they detect cell voltage below 6.0V on first contact — common when a new battery has been sitting in storage at partial charge. The camera refuses to power on and shows a depleted-battery animation. Pull the battery, place it in the OEM charger until the indicator shows a full charge, then reinsert. The body accepts the cell once it reads above the 7.0V threshold on power-up.

Frequently Asked Questions
My GF2 shows "no battery" or flashes the dead-battery icon even though the replacement is new — what's wrong?
The GF2 locks out any cell it detects below roughly 6.0V at contact, which can happen when a new battery arrives partially discharged from storage. The camera reads the low voltage and refuses to boot rather than attempting to draw from the cell. Remove the battery, charge it fully in the OEM Panasonic charger until the charger light confirms completion, then reinsert. The camera body accepts it once voltage at the contacts reads above 7.0V.
Shot count is noticeably lower than what the spec sheet suggests — is the replacement battery underperforming?
Rated shot counts are measured under controlled conditions with flash, EVF, and stabilisation all minimised. On the GF2, running continuous autofocus, the electronic viewfinder, and in-camera image stabilisation simultaneously can more than double the current draw beyond the baseline test. Cold ambient temperatures above 0°C also reduce usable capacity by 10–20%. If you need to extend a shooting session, disable the EVF when shooting from the rear screen and set the auto-power-off timer to 1 minute.
The battery percentage on my GF2 drops from 80% to 20% in a few shots, then holds steady — what causes that?
This is a BMS calibration mismatch, not cell failure. The GF2 maps its percentage indicator to fixed voltage steps, and a new cell's discharge curve sits slightly outside the thresholds the camera learned from the original battery. The indicator jumps between calibration points instead of stepping down gradually. Run one full charge cycle entirely inside the camera body — charge to 100%, shoot until the camera shuts down on low battery — and the BMS recalibrates the threshold map. Display behaviour normalises from the next charge cycle.
