Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Panasonic MC-SBU1F Series — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AVV97V-TB)
This 10.8V, 1600mAh Li-ion battery pack replaces the original cell in the Panasonic MC-SBU1F-R, MC-SBU1F-G, and MC-SBU1F-H cordless stick vacuums. It slots into the same battery bay and connects to the same BMS interface as the factory unit. When your original pack no longer holds a useful charge, this is the direct cell replacement.
- MC-SBU1F-R, G, and H compatibility: All three colour variants of the MC-SBU1F run the same 10.8V motor rail and use the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One battery part number — AVV97V-TB — covers the full colour range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the MC-SBU1F platform. The BMS handshake completed correctly on first connection, the protection circuit responded to simulated overcurrent events, and charge acceptance matched the rated 1600mAh capacity within normal cell tolerance.
- Dock charging habit on the MC-SBU1F: The MC-SBU1F dock does not cut trickle current once the cell is full. Leaving the vacuum on the dock between every use accelerates capacity fade. Charge to full, remove the vacuum from the dock, and return it only when the battery needs a top-up.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The MC-SBU1F motor draws higher current the moment airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder to maintain suction speed. As current draw rises, the cell voltage sags under load even when the cell is not depleted. The vacuum's indicator reads state of charge at rest, not under load, so the indicator can still show mid-range while suction is already weak. Clean or replace the filter first; if suction recovers immediately, the battery is not the issue.
Motor cutting out mid-clean and recovering after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the MC-SBU1F pulls sustained high current — typically from a blocked filter or a carpet edge catch — the BMS cuts power to protect the cell. The pack resets itself after a short thermal or timer window, which is why the motor restarts without pressing anything. The fix is to clear the blockage and check the filter before the next run. If trips continue on an unobstructed vacuum with a new filter, verify cell voltage after a full charge sits at or above 12.4V.

Frequently Asked Questions
My MC-SBU1F has noticeably less suction than it used to even on a full charge — is the battery causing this?
A degraded cell delivers lower voltage under load even when the indicator shows full, and the MC-SBU1F motor loses speed as voltage sags. Before replacing the battery, check and clean the filter — a restricted filter forces the motor to draw excess current, which worsens voltage sag on any cell including a new one. If suction improves immediately after cleaning the filter, the battery may still have life left. If suction stays weak on a clean filter, measure cell voltage after a full charge; anything below 12.0V under light load points to a worn cell that needs replacing.
The vacuum cuts out after a few seconds of use, waits, then starts again — what's happening?
The BMS is tripping on overcurrent and resetting — this is almost always caused by restricted airflow forcing the motor to draw more current than the protection circuit allows. Clear any blockage in the nozzle, hose, and filter before assuming the battery is at fault. If the cut-out stops after clearing the restriction, the pack is fine. If it continues on an unobstructed machine with a clean filter, the cell's internal resistance has risen enough that normal motor-start current now triggers the BMS trip — replace the battery.
I left my MC-SBU1F on the dock for several weeks and now it barely runs — did I damage the battery?
The MC-SBU1F dock applies a continuous trickle charge once the cell is full, and extended dock time accelerates capacity fade in Li-ion cells. After weeks on continuous trickle, the cell's usable capacity can drop significantly and will not recover with normal cycling. Remove the vacuum from the dock after each full charge going forward. If the cell no longer accepts a meaningful charge — confirmed by a full charge cycle that still shows low voltage at around 10.8V or below — the pack needs to be replaced.
