Fits Solac AE2510 cordless vacuum cleaner; replaces OEM part number 403884.
14.4V and 3000mAh capacity restores full motor torque on carpet and hard floors.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a positive locking tab engagement.
We bench-tested the Ni-MH pack on motor load draw — BMS accepted the charger handshake without fault codes.
Do not leave this battery on the charging dock continuously; trickle charge degrades Ni-MH capacity fast — remove when fully charged.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Solac AE2510 — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (403884)

This is a 14.4V, 3000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Solac AE2510 cordless handheld vacuum cleaner. It replaces OEM part number 403884. When the original cell degrades and suction drops noticeably, this cell restores the motor to its rated voltage draw.

  • AE2510 voltage rail match: The AE2510 motor controller runs on a 14.4V nominal rail. Fitting a cell at the wrong voltage causes the controller to either refuse to start or run the motor undervolted, which cuts suction before the battery is actually depleted. This cell sits at the correct nominal voltage to keep the controller operating within spec.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell under a sustained load matching the AE2510 motor draw. The BMS held cutoff voltage correctly and did not trip false overcurrent on startup. Cell temperature stayed within normal range across the discharge cycle.
  • Dock charging on the AE2510: Do not leave the AE2510 sitting on the charging dock after it reaches full charge. Ni-MH cells on continuous trickle charge develop capacity fade significantly faster than cells charged only when depleted. Charge fully, then remove from the dock.

Cordless vacuum losing suction before the battery indicator reaches low

This is one of the most common complaints on the AE2510 and it is rarely the motor. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated to maintain airflow. That elevated draw pulls the cell voltage down faster than normal, and the motor controller interprets the resulting voltage sag as a low-battery condition. The vacuum loses suction while the indicator still shows charge remaining. Clean or replace the filter first, then retest.

Battery fade after months of continuous dock charging

Ni-MH chemistry is particularly vulnerable to trickle charge damage. Leaving the AE2510 permanently docked runs a low-level charge current through cells that are already full, which gradually breaks down the cell structure and reduces total capacity. Users notice the vacuum running for a noticeably shorter time than it did when new, even with a fresh charge. To slow this down with the replacement cell, charge only when the vacuum is depleted and pull it from the dock once the charge cycle completes.

Frequently Asked Questions

My AE2510 suction drops suddenly during use but the battery light hasn't come on — what's happening?

This is almost always a filter restriction issue, not the battery. A blocked filter makes the motor work harder, pulling the cell voltage down sharply under load. The motor controller reads that voltage sag as insufficient power and backs off before the indicator triggers. Clean the filter thoroughly, recharge fully, and test again — if suction holds steady, the filter was the cause.

The AE2510 motor cuts out for a few seconds then comes back on its own — is this the battery or a BMS trip?

That behaviour points to a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead cell. When sustained suction against a blockage — carpet pile, a clogged nozzle, or a restricted filter — pushes motor current above the BMS threshold, the BMS cuts output briefly to protect the cell, then resets. Check the nozzle and filter for blockages first. If the motor still cuts out on a clear filter, confirm the replacement cell's BMS reset voltage is around 14.4V nominal before assuming a faulty unit.

I've had the new replacement cell in for a few weeks and it already seems to be holding less charge than when it arrived — did I get a faulty cell?

Likely not faulty — this is trickle charge damage from continuous docking. Ni-MH cells left on the charger after reaching full charge are slowly degraded by the residual charge current the dock keeps applying. Capacity fade within the first few weeks is a clear sign the vacuum has been sitting on the dock between every use. From now on, charge only when the vacuum is depleted and remove it from the dock once the indicator shows full.
