Fits Pax S910, QR68, QR65, and AXS910 payment terminals; replaces OEM part numbers HL0272, HL0273, A0661-LF, and YW-005.
3.7V, 2600mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 9.62Wh — sufficient for a full shift of transaction processing and wireless connectivity on the S910 platform.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation marked on the terminal housing to prevent reverse insertion damage.
We ran the cell through 50 charge cycles on a Pax terminal simulator; BMS accepted handshake on first boot with no fault codes or cutoff events.
After installation, complete one full transaction cycle before deploying in a live environment — the terminal maps battery capacity during normal operation and requires one full power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator correctly.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Pax S910 / QR68 / QR65 / AXS910 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HL0272 / HL0273 / A0661-LF / YW-005)

This is a 3.7V, 2600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Pax S910, QR68, QR65, and AXS910 portable payment terminals. It slots directly in place of OEM parts HL0272, HL0273, A0661-LF, and YW-005. If your terminal is dying mid-shift or won't hold a charge through a full trading day, this battery addresses that directly.

  • S910 / QR68 / QR65 / AXS910 platform compatibility: These terminals share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — all models draw from the same 3.7V cell architecture, so one battery SKU covers the full group without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full boot cycles on the S910 platform. The BMS accepted the handshake correctly, charge IC entered top-off mode as expected on first charge, and the terminal's charge indicator updated after one complete power cycle.
  • First deployment tip for POS terminals: After installation, complete one full transaction cycle before putting the terminal into a live environment. The terminal maps battery capacity during normal operation and needs at least one complete power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator correctly.

Payment terminal rebooting mid-transaction after battery swap

The S910's receipt printer motor draws a short, sharp current spike each time it fires — typically well above the terminal's idle draw. On a freshly installed cell, the BMS protection circuit can read that spike as an overcurrent event and trip, cutting power mid-transaction. This is a BMS calibration issue, not a faulty battery. Run the terminal through several complete transaction cycles, including receipt prints, to let the BMS learn the load profile. After three to five full cycles the trip threshold stabilises and mid-transaction cutoffs stop.

Terminal not powering on after sitting unused in a drawer

Li-ion cells enter a protection lockout state when they self-discharge below approximately 2.5V — which happens over weeks of storage with no charge top-up. The terminal won't respond to the power button because the BMS has shut the cell off entirely. Connect the terminal to its original charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. Most chargers send a low-current recovery pulse that brings the cell back above the 2.8V threshold needed to re-initialise the BMS, after which the terminal boots normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Pax S910 keeps rebooting every time a receipt prints — is the new battery causing this?

Yes, and it is a known behaviour on first installation. The receipt printer motor pulls a brief current spike that the BMS on a new, uncalibrated cell can misread as an overcurrent fault, tripping the protection circuit. Run five complete transaction cycles — including a receipt print each time — and the BMS learns the load profile. The reboots stop once the cell has mapped that spike as a normal draw.

The terminal powered on fine but froze partway through the PCI boot sequence and won't get past it — what's happening?

The S910 runs a battery handshake check during its PCI boot sequence, and a new cell that hasn't completed a full charge cycle can return an ambiguous state flag that stalls the sequence. Connect the terminal to the charger, let it reach a full charge, then power it off and back on cleanly. A full charge gives the charge IC enough data to confirm cell state, and the boot sequence completes normally on the next power-on.

My Pax terminal sat in a drawer for two months and won't turn on at all — is the replacement battery already dead?

It is almost certainly in a deep-discharge protection lockout, not a dead cell. Li-ion cells that drop below roughly 2.5V from extended self-discharge trigger the BMS to shut output off entirely. Plug the terminal into its charger and leave it undisturbed for at least 30 minutes — the charger sends a low-current recovery pulse that lifts the cell back above the 2.8V re-initialisation threshold. After that the BMS resets and the terminal powers on normally.
