Fits NEXGO N3 and N5 payment terminals; replaces OEM part number GX02.
3.7V, 5100mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full transaction power without mid-sale shutdowns on live terminals.
Connector seats flush into the N3/N5 battery slot with a single-tab locking mechanism; no adapter required.
We bench-tested this pack on a live N3 unit running consecutive card transactions—BMS accepted the handshake on first boot cycle with no overcurrent trips during printer motor draw.
After installation, run one complete transaction cycle (swipe, process, print receipt) before deploying in production—the terminal maps battery capacity during normal operation and requires this full power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator correctly.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

NEXGO N3 / N5 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (GX02)

This is a 3.7V, 5100mAh Li-ion battery for the NEXGO N3 and N5 mobile payment terminals. It replaces OEM part number GX02. Both terminals share the same battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol, so one part number covers both models.

  • N3 and N5 compatibility: NEXGO built the N3 and N5 on the same hardware platform. They use an identical battery bay, matching connector, and the same BMS handshake sequence — so this cell fits both without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through the full NEXGO boot sequence and monitored the BMS response during card-read, receipt print, and wireless data events. The protection circuit handled combined load spikes without tripping.
  • First transaction cycle after installation: After fitting this battery, complete one full transaction — boot to receipt print — before deploying in a live environment. The terminal maps battery capacity during normal operation and needs at least one complete power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator correctly.

Payment terminal rebooting mid-transaction after battery swap

When the receipt printer motor fires, it draws a short current spike that can trip the BMS overcurrent threshold on a new cell if the terminal hasn't completed an initial calibration cycle. The BMS interprets the spike as a fault and cuts output, which forces a reboot mid-sale. Running one complete transaction cycle after installation — boot, card read, print — lets the BMS learn the terminal's load signature and stops false trips from occurring.

Terminal not completing PCI boot sequence after new battery installed

The NEXGO N3 runs a PCI-compliant security check on every boot. If the battery voltage sits below approximately 3.5V when the terminal first powers on, the boot sequence stalls before it reaches the payment application. A new battery shipped in storage mode may read low on arrival. Connect the terminal to the charging cradle for 15–20 minutes before the first power-on to bring the cell above the boot threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

My NEXGO N3 battery indicator has been stuck at 99% since I installed the new battery — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. When a new Li-ion cell first charges, the charge IC enters a top-off phase and holds the display at 99% until the cell reaches full saturation voltage — typically 4.2V per cell. The terminal won't log 100% until it completes that saturation stage, which can take an extra 20–30 minutes beyond the point where charging appears to stop. Leave the terminal on charge until the indicator steps to 100% on its own.

The NEXGO N3 feels noticeably warm during a busy transaction period — is the battery overheating?

Warmth during heavy use is expected. The N3 runs the display, receipt printer motor, and wireless radio simultaneously during peak transaction periods, and that combined draw generates heat at the battery. The BMS monitors cell temperature and will throttle output if it exceeds safe limits. If the terminal feels hot rather than warm — too hot to hold comfortably — check that the battery bay cover is seated fully, as a loose cover reduces heat dissipation from the cell.

My NEXGO N3 won't power on at all after sitting unused in a drawer for several months — is the battery dead?

Extended storage causes Li-ion cells to self-discharge. If the cell drops below roughly 2.5V, the BMS enters deep-discharge lockout and blocks output to prevent damage. Connect the terminal to its charging cradle and leave it for at least 30–45 minutes without attempting to power it on. The charge IC will slowly recover the cell voltage above the BMS recovery threshold — usually around 3.0V — at which point the terminal will power on normally.
