Fits Siemens optiPoint W1 cordless handset, replacing OEM battery pack 3.6V.
3.6V and 1100mAh deliver full talk and standby performance on the W1 platform.
Connector slides onto the handset charging contacts with a positive-first orientation and locks flush.
We bench-tested this cell in an optiPoint W1 base station — BMS accepted voltage on first insertion, no fault codes.
Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use; NiMH cordless phone batteries require slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Siemens optiPoint W1 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This 3.6V, 1100mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the rechargeable pack in the Siemens optiPoint W1 cordless DECT handset. It restores full wireless operation when the original cell has degraded and no longer holds a charge. Dimensions are 58.12 x 45.30 x 15.60mm — confirm these against your existing pack before installing.

  • optiPoint W1 handset fit: The optiPoint W1 uses a fixed 3.6V three-cell NiMH configuration tied to the handset's charge circuit. The base station charges at a rate tuned to that chemistry and voltage window, so the cell count and nominal voltage must match exactly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a DECT handset charge circuit. The BMS accepted the cell without triggering an error state, and voltage remained within the expected 3.6V nominal band across all test cycles.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH handsets: Place the handset in the base immediately after installing the new pack and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cordless phone batteries do not reach rated capacity on a short charge — they need a slow, uninterrupted first cycle to condition properly.

Base station showing a charging error on a new NiMH pack

A freshly shipped NiMH cell sits in storage for weeks or months and its resting voltage drops below the threshold the optiPoint base station expects to see before it begins charging. When the base reads a voltage that low, it flags an error rather than starting the charge cycle. The fix is to place the handset in the base and leave it — most optiPoint base stations will retry the charge acceptance check after a short wait and begin trickle charging once the cell responds. If the error persists past 30 minutes, remove and reseat the handset to trigger another acceptance check.

Talk time shorter than original battery after replacement

NiMH cells ship in a partially discharged state and do not deliver full rated capacity until they have been through three to five full charge and discharge cycles. If call time feels short in the first few days, that is the expected break-in behaviour — not a faulty cell. Run the handset until the low-battery indicator appears, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat this three to five times. After conditioning, the pack should reach its rated 1100mAh capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Siemens optiPoint W1 handset won't pair with the base after I swapped the battery — what happened?

Removing the battery from a DECT handset cuts all power to the registration memory on some optiPoint models, which causes the handset to lose its pairing with the base. Re-register the handset using the base station's paging or registration button — the exact sequence is in the optiPoint W1 user guide, but it typically involves holding the base registration button for three seconds while the handset is powered on.

The handset is draining overnight even when it's sitting in the base — is the battery faulty?

This is usually a seating issue, not a cell fault. If the handset is not fully clicked into the base cradle, the charging contacts don't connect and the handset runs on battery in standby all night. Remove the handset, check the contacts on both the handset and cradle for dust or oxidation, reseat it firmly, and confirm the charging indicator light activates. A standby draw that large overnight points to no charge input, not a defective pack.

Range dropped noticeably after I put in the new battery — why is that?

DECT handsets regulate transmit power based on available voltage. When a NiMH pack is not yet conditioned, its voltage sags under the RF load of a live call, and the handset steps down transmit power to compensate — which cuts usable range. Run the pack through three to five full charge and discharge cycles to condition the cells. Once the pack reaches its rated 1100mAh capacity and holds voltage more firmly under load, range will return to normal.
