Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips CRP777 Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CRP777)
This is a 14.4V 5200mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Philips CRP777 cordless vacuum. It fits the CRP777, CRP777/01, CRP781, and FC9910/01/A models. The original battery uses the same voltage rail and BMS connector — this cell matches those specs.
- CRP777 and CRP781 platform fit: These models share the same 14.4V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell covers the full range without adapter or modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the CRP777 platform. The BMS communicated correctly with the charger, accepted a full charge without fault codes, and held voltage across variable motor loads including carpet resistance simulation.
- Dock charging habit on the CRP777: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock between uses. Continuous dock charging applies a low-level trickle current that degrades Li-ion cell capacity faster than regular charge-and-remove cycles. Charge to full, then take it off.
Cordless vacuum losing suction before the battery indicator reaches low
This is a voltage sag issue, not always a dead battery. When the motor draws current against a blockage or a restricted filter, internal cell resistance causes voltage to drop faster than the indicator tracks. The vacuum's power stage interprets this as low battery and reduces motor speed to protect the cell. Clear the filter and check the brush roll for obstruction — a clean filter alone can restore full suction at the same charge level.
Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip. Sustained restricted airflow — usually a clogged filter or blocked hose — forces the motor to pull above its rated current draw. The BMS cuts the output circuit to protect the cell, which reads as the vacuum switching off. After a brief pause, the BMS resets and the unit powers back on. Fix the restriction before replacing the battery — if the filter is blocked, a new cell will trip in exactly the same way. Check that the filter reads below 0.5kPa resistance before assuming the battery is the fault.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Philips CRP777 has noticeably less suction than it used to, even on a full charge — is the battery causing this?
A degraded battery causes voltage to sag under motor load, which the vacuum interprets as low power and throttles back suction. But a partially blocked filter produces the same symptom by forcing the motor to draw more current than the cell can deliver cleanly. Clean the filter first. If suction restores on a clean filter, the battery is fine — if it doesn't, and the cell is more than two years old, a replacement is the likely fix.
My CRP777 cuts out after a minute or two of heavy vacuuming, then works again after sitting for 30 seconds — what's happening?
That's a BMS overcurrent trip caused by the motor pulling above rated current, usually from a blocked filter or brush roll restriction. The BMS disconnects the cell to protect it, then resets after the trip clears. We saw this exact behaviour on the bench when we restricted airflow deliberately — the cell voltage was fine, but the BMS tripped every time. Clear the filter and brush roll fully, then retest before concluding the battery needs replacement.
I left my CRP777 on the charging dock for several months and now the battery barely holds charge — did I damage it?
Yes — continuous dock charging is the most common cause of early capacity fade on this vacuum. Li-ion cells held at 100% charge with a low trickle current experience accelerated degradation compared to cells that are charged and then removed. The damage is cumulative and not reversible in the existing cell. With a replacement battery, charge it fully and remove it from the dock — do not leave it plugged in between cleaning sessions.
