Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips Fidelio L3 Flagship Wireless Headphones — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 750mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery inside the Philips Fidelio L3 Flagship Wireless Headphones. It restores power to the onboard Bluetooth radio, active noise cancellation circuit, and audio drivers. Physical dimensions are 38.40 × 31.20 × 6.30mm — measure your existing cell before fitting.

  • Fidelio L3 power rail: The L3 runs ANC processing and Bluetooth simultaneously off a single 3.7V cell. That combined draw is higher than passive headphones — the replacement cell must match the original voltage exactly or the ANC module will under-perform or shut down early.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell under combined ANC-plus-Bluetooth load. The BMS held cutoff voltage cleanly and did not trip on the current spike when ANC initialises at power-on.
  • First-charge protocol on the L3: Charge the headphones to full before the first use session. The L3's onboard fuel gauge needs one complete charge cycle to calibrate — without it, the battery indicator will read inaccurately for the first several uses.

Why the Fidelio L3 cuts out mid-audio on a new battery

The L3 runs ANC and Bluetooth off the same cell simultaneously. During peak draw — bass transients plus radio transmission — the combined current pull can momentarily sag cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold. A new cell shipped at storage voltage (around 3.6V) is more vulnerable to this than a fully charged one. Charge to 100% before first use and the sag margin improves significantly.

Battery indicator stuck at full but headphones power off after short use

This happens when the fuel gauge circuit has not yet calibrated to the new cell. The gauge was mapped to the old degraded cell's discharge curve, so it reads full while the new cell is still at storage voltage near 3.6V. Run one complete charge-to-discharge cycle and the gauge resets its reference point. After that cycle, the indicator will track actual capacity correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Fidelio L3 keeps cutting out mid-song even though the battery shows charged — what's happening?

The L3 draws simultaneous current from ANC and Bluetooth, and on peak transients that combined load can pull cell voltage below the BMS cutoff even when the indicator still shows charge remaining. This is most common in the first few uses when the fuel gauge hasn't calibrated to the new cell. Run a full charge-to-empty cycle — after that the BMS and gauge align and the cut-outs stop. If it persists after three cycles, check that the cell is seated flat with no flex across the connector.

Talk time seems much shorter than rated for the first few days — is the battery faulty?

It's not faulty. Li-Polymer cells need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. The cell ships at a reduced storage charge and the internal resistance is slightly elevated until the electrodes condition. Each full cycle improves available capacity noticeably. By cycle five, measured output should be within 5–10% of the 750mAh rating.

The headphones feel warm near the ear cup after extended listening with ANC on — is that normal?

Yes, within limits. Running ANC continuously alongside Bluetooth places a sustained combined draw on a 750mAh cell housed in a small enclosure — some heat is expected. The cell becomes a concern if it feels hot rather than warm, or if the housing distorts. If surface temperature is uncomfortable to hold, stop use and let the headphones cool fully before recharging. Normal operating warmth dissipates within two minutes of powering off.
