Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

CGV Prelude 3 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (LD503046)
This 3.7V, 750mAh lithium-polymer cell is a direct replacement for the CGV Prelude 3 wireless headset battery. It fits the Prelude 3 specifically — not a generic headset pack. Swap it when the original cell no longer holds charge through a full call or audio session.
- Prelude 3 fitment: The Prelude 3 runs a single-cell Li-Polymer pack at 3.7V nominal. The LD503046 cell matches the physical dimensions (49.10 × 29.50 × 7.00mm), connector pinout, and BMS communication the headset expects. Any mismatch in cell thickness or connector orientation prevents the housing from closing and the base station from registering a valid pack.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Prelude 3 platform. The BMS handshook cleanly with the base station on first insertion, charge current ramped correctly, and the protection circuit triggered at the expected low-voltage cutoff without faulting the charger.
- First-charge protocol for the Prelude 3: Dock the headset in the base station and let it complete a full uninterrupted charge cycle before making any calls. The base station logs the new cell during this cycle — skipping it causes the talk-time indicator to read incorrectly for the first several uses.
Base station not recognising the new pack after installation
The Prelude 3 base station handshakes with the battery's BMS before displaying a valid charge state. If the cell ships at storage voltage (around 3.6V), the base may show no charge activity or flash an error LED on first dock. This is not a faulty cell — the BMS needs a full charge cycle to initialise communication with the base. Dock the headset, leave it undisturbed through one complete charge, and the base will register the pack correctly.
Headset cutting out mid-call despite the base showing full charge
The Prelude 3 draws from two loads simultaneously during a call — the audio codec and the wireless radio. That combined current pull can cause voltage to sag below the BMS cutoff threshold if the cell is not yet conditioned. On a new pack, this typically resolves across three to five charge-discharge cycles as the cell reaches full capacity. If cutouts persist beyond five cycles, check that the base station contacts are clean and making firm contact with the headset charging pins — poor contact raises effective impedance and worsens sag.

Frequently Asked Questions
The base station charges fine but my Prelude 3 cuts off after just a short time on a call — is the new battery faulty?
Almost certainly not. A new Li-Polymer cell ships at storage voltage, and the Prelude 3 needs one full uninterrupted charge cycle in the base before the BMS and base station synchronise properly. Before that first full cycle, the headset can cut off early because the talk-time logic is working from incomplete cell data. Dock it overnight, run through a full cycle, and the behaviour should correct itself.
My Prelude 3 talk time is noticeably shorter than rated for the first few days — is the capacity wrong?
Li-Polymer cells don't deliver full rated capacity straight out of the packet. The CGV Prelude 3 battery reaches its 750mAh rating after three to five full charge-discharge cycles as the electrolyte fully wets the electrode structure. Talk time improves progressively across those early cycles — by cycle five you should be at or near the rated figure. If it hasn't improved by cycle six, check that the base contacts are clean and seating the headset flush.
The headset gets noticeably warm near the ear during long calls — is that a battery problem?
The Prelude 3 housing is compact, and sustained combined draw from both the audio codec and the wireless radio generates heat in a small space — that's normal under extended use. The Li-Polymer cell itself adds a small contribution when delivering continuous current. If the warmth becomes uncomfortable or the headset shuts off due to heat, let it cool in the base for ten minutes before resuming — the thermal protection in the BMS is doing its job. Warmth that appears only on a new battery typically reduces after the first few conditioning cycles as internal resistance settles.
