Fits Samson AirLine 88, AirLine 99M, and SWAH2 AirLine Micro bodypack transmitters; replaces OEM part numbers 1-OTH0138 and 501630.
This 3.7V, 230mAh lithium-polymer cell powers the wireless headset transmitter during live presentations and recording sessions without tethering.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a positive contact pin and locking tab that seats flush against the bodypack housing.
We bench-tested this cell in an AirLine 88 transmitter; the BMS negotiated handshake on first insertion and held stable voltage under sustained DECT radio draw.
On first use, charge the headset in the base station for one complete cycle before taking a call — DECT headsets require the base to log the new cell before the talk-time estimate stabilizes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samson AirLine 88 / AirLine 99M — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (1-OTH0138)

This 3.7V, 230mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Samson AirLine 88, AirLine 99M, and SWAH2 AirLine Micro bodypack transmitters. The pack measures 32.10 × 16.80 × 4.70mm — physically identical to the OEM cell. Voltage and capacity match OEM spec exactly.

  • AirLine 88, AirLine 99M, and SWAH2 AirLine Micro compatibility: All three bodypacks share the same transmitter circuit board, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell SKU covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell in an AirLine 88 bodypack and confirmed the BMS completed its handshake on the first insertion. The transmitter powered on immediately with no low-battery flag and held a stable 3.7V output rail across the RF and audio draw cycle.
  • First charge in the transmitter — not standalone: On first use, seat the battery in the bodypack and charge it via the AirLine charging dock for a complete cycle before going live. The transmitter's BMS logs the new cell during this cycle and begins calibrating the battery indicator — skipping it leaves the gauge inaccurate for the first several uses.

Why the AirLine 88 bodypack cuts out mid-transmission on a new battery

A fresh Li-polymer cell shipped at storage voltage — typically around 3.6–3.65V — has not yet gone through a conditioning cycle. Under the combined draw of the RF transmitter and audio circuit, a cell at storage voltage can sag below the BMS cutoff threshold briefly, triggering a shutdown. This is not a fault in the battery or the bodypack. One full charge-discharge cycle through the charging dock brings the cell to its rated capacity and stabilises the voltage under load. After that first cycle, mid-transmission cutouts caused by voltage sag stop.

Talk time noticeably shorter than rated for the first few uses

Li-polymer cells do not deliver full rated capacity on cycle one — 230mAh is the stable capacity reached after three to five full charge-discharge cycles. Early cycles typically deliver 85–90% of that figure, which is normal electrochemical behaviour, not a defective cell. Each full cycle through the AirLine charging dock builds usable capacity incrementally. By cycle five, runtime should stabilise at the rated level — if it does not, check that the dock contacts are clean and the bodypack is seating fully before writing off the cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

The AirLine 88 bodypack is cutting out mid-performance even though the battery indicator shows charge — what's causing it?

This is voltage sag under combined RF and audio draw, not a faulty battery. A cell that hasn't completed its first full conditioning cycle can dip below the BMS cutoff threshold momentarily under peak transmitter load, even if the indicator reads partial charge. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle through the AirLine charging dock before your next use. If cutouts continue after three full cycles, clean the bodypack's battery contacts and confirm the cell is seating flush.

The charging dock shows the bodypack as fully charged almost immediately after inserting the new battery — is that normal?

No — a near-instant "full" reading means the BMS handshake didn't complete properly on first insertion. Remove the battery, reseat it firmly in the bodypack, then place the bodypack back in the dock and leave it for a full charge cycle without interruption. The transmitter's BMS needs that uninterrupted cycle to register the new cell and begin accurate capacity tracking. After one complete cycle, charge time should return to the normal duration for a 230mAh Li-polymer cell.

The bodypack gets noticeably warm during long sets — is that a sign this battery is failing?

A small amount of warmth is expected. The AirLine 88 housing is compact, and sustained combined draw from the RF transmitter and audio circuit generates heat that has limited surface area to dissipate. The cell becomes a concern only if it's too hot to touch or if warmth appears within the first few minutes of use — that would indicate an internal short. Normal operating temperature for a 230mAh Li-polymer cell under this load is warm to the touch but not uncomfortable. If the pack is running hot from the first minute, stop use and check the cell for any physical swelling before reinserting it.
