Fits Philips G40, GS10, GS20, and G40E medical monitors; replaces OEM part LI3S200A.
11.1V, 4800mAh capacity delivers sustained power for extended patient monitoring sessions without mid-shift swaps.
Connector seats into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is fixed by the housing geometry.
We bench-tested this cell in a G40 unit — BMS accepted the pack on first insertion and completed the power-on self-test without fault codes.
Allow the device to finish its full power-on self-test cycle without interruption after installation; medical devices verify new battery chemistry at startup, and stopping mid-sequence triggers a false fault that clears only on the next complete reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips G40 / GS10 / GS20 Series — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LI3S200A)

This is an 11.1V, 4800mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Philips G40, G40E, GS10, and GS20 portable clinical monitors. It replaces OEM part number LI3S200A. Use this when the original cell no longer holds charge or fails the device's built-in battery self-test.

  • G40, G40E, GS10, and GS20 compatibility: These models share the same 11.1V battery rail, LI3S200A connector, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell fits all four without modification or adapter.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the G40's charge-discharge sequence and confirmed the BMS accepted the new cell, passed voltage threshold checks, and held charge across multiple full cycles without triggering a fault state.
  • Post-swap self-test procedure: After installing this battery, allow the G40 to complete its full power-on self-test without interrupting it. The device runs a BMS verification at startup — cutting power mid-sequence registers a false battery fault that persists until the next complete reboot.

Device not completing boot sequence after battery swap

The G40's boot sequence includes a BMS handshake that checks cell voltage against an internal threshold before it will proceed. A new Li-ion cell fresh from storage can sit slightly below the BMS's minimum acceptable voltage — not because it's depleted, but because it hasn't been through a conditioning cycle. The device interprets this as a fault and halts the boot. Connecting the device to mains power first, letting the cell charge to above 11.5V, then rebooting clears this in most cases.

Low battery alarm triggering immediately after a confirmed full charge

This happens when the BMS has calibrated its state-of-charge reference against the previous degraded cell. The replacement cell has a higher actual capacity, but the BMS gauge doesn't yet know it — it reads the new cell's charge curve as unfamiliar and defaults to a conservative low-threshold alarm. Running one complete charge-discharge cycle lets the BMS recalibrate its internal model to the new cell's chemistry. After that cycle, the low battery alarm threshold realigns and the false trigger stops.

Frequently Asked Questions

The G40 powers on but shuts off unexpectedly during patient monitoring — is this the new battery causing it?

Yes, this is common in the first ten cycles after a swap. The G40's load profile during active monitoring draws harder than a standard bench charge-discharge, and a new cell's internal resistance is slightly higher until it's broken in. The BMS reads a momentary voltage sag under that load and trips an undervoltage cutoff. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles before returning the device to clinical use — by cycle five, internal resistance drops and the sag no longer reaches the cutoff threshold.

The charge indicator on the G40 won't reach 100% on the first charge — is the replacement cell faulty?

Not faulty. The G40's charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it detects an unfamiliar cell profile, which extends the final absorption phase and can stall the indicator below 100% for an unusually long time. Leave it on charge for a full uninterrupted cycle — typically longer than you'd expect compared to a known-good OEM cell. After the first complete cycle, the charge IC adjusts and subsequent charges complete normally to 100%.

The G40 was stored for several months with the old battery removed — now it won't power on even with the new battery installed.

When a medical device sits in storage without a battery, some G40 units drop below the BMS recovery threshold on their internal housekeeping circuit. The new cell installs correctly but the BMS is in a deep-discharge lockout state and won't initialise. Connect the device to mains power with the new battery installed and leave it for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on — this allows the charge IC to push enough current through to lift the BMS above its recovery threshold, which sits around 9.5V for this cell configuration.
