Fits Braun Casmed 3/N600AAK medical diagnostic devices, replacing OEM part NI-AA2000MAH.
3.6V 1500mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers stable output for the full clinical workflow without mid-procedure voltage sag.
AA-form factor slides into the vertical battery slot with positive terminal facing the spring contact; polarity marked on device housing.
We bench-tested this cell in a Casmed 3 simulator rig; BMS accepted the charge within two cycles, no fault code on acceptance test.
Allow the device to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption after installation — the medical device BMS runs verification at startup, and stopping this sequence triggers a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Braun Casmed 3/N600AAK — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (NI-AA2000MAH)

This is a 3.6V, 1500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Braun Casmed 3/N600AAK medical diagnostic instrument. It replaces OEM part NI-AA2000MAH directly. The cell matches the original voltage and chemistry required by the device's internal charge management circuit.

  • Casmed 3/N600AAK platform fit: The Casmed 3 series runs a fixed 3.6V rail matched to a single Ni-MH cell configuration. Substituting a different chemistry or voltage — even within a similar footprint — triggers a charge fault because the device's charge IC is calibrated specifically for Ni-MH delta-V detection.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the Casmed 3 charge cycle and confirmed the BMS completed delta-V termination correctly. Charge acceptance on the first cycle was conservative, as expected with a new Ni-MH cell — capacity normalised after one full charge-discharge cycle.
  • Post-swap self-test protocol: After installing this battery, allow the device to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The Casmed 3 runs a BMS verification sequence at startup — cutting power mid-sequence registers as a battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot cycle.

Device not completing boot sequence on new battery

The Casmed 3 runs an internal verification check during startup that reads cell voltage and confirms the BMS handshake. A new cell that has partially self-discharged during storage can sit below the minimum threshold required to pass this check — typically around 3.3V for a 3.6V Ni-MH cell. When that happens, the device stalls mid-boot or resets rather than completing startup. Charge the battery fully before the first installation, then allow the device to boot without interruption.

Charge indicator not reaching 100% on first charge

On the first charge cycle, the Casmed 3 charge IC applies a conservative current limit because it cannot yet profile the cell's internal resistance. This causes the charge indicator to plateau short of full — sometimes as low as 85% — before the IC terminates early. This is not a fault in the battery or the charger. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle and the charge IC recalibrates; subsequent charges reach full capacity reliably.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Casmed 3 is alarming low battery immediately after I charged the new replacement — what's happening?

The device's BMS compares cell voltage against a threshold set for a conditioned Ni-MH cell. A brand-new cell has slightly elevated internal resistance, so its resting voltage reads lower than an equivalent cycled cell — enough to trip the low-battery alarm even at full charge. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle before clinical use. After that cycle, the BMS reads the cell correctly and the alarm clears.

The device was stored with the old battery out — now it won't power on at all after I installed the new cell. What's wrong?

Extended storage without a cell causes the Casmed 3's internal capacitors to partially discharge, and the device requires a minimum input voltage to initialise the boot controller. The new cell may also have self-discharged below 3.3V during its own storage. Charge the battery fully in an external Ni-MH charger before installing it, then connect it to the device and allow 30 seconds before pressing power.

The Casmed 3 is shutting off unexpectedly during use — is the new battery failing?

In the first 10 cycles, a new Ni-MH cell has not yet reached full charge acceptance, so its usable capacity under the device's load profile is lower than rated. The BMS interprets the voltage sag under load as a depleted cell and triggers a protective shutdown. This is expected behaviour, not a fault. Complete at least three full charge-discharge cycles — each cycle increases the cell's effective capacity until it stabilises at the rated 1500mAh.
