Fits Poco M4 Pro smartphone, replacing OEM battery part number BN5D.
Output 3.87V and 4900mAh capacity — supplies full power to processor, display, and modem without voltage sag.
Connector type mates to the M4 Pro motherboard slot; locking tab secures the cell in the lower chassis pocket.
We cycled the cell on a Poco M4 Pro test unit; BMS initialized without fault codes and fuel gauge accepted the new discharge curve on the first full cycle.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Poco M4 Pro — 3.87V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BN5D)

This is a 3.87V, 4900mAh Li-Polymer cell for the Poco M4 Pro (model 2201117PG). It replaces a degraded or failed BN5D battery and restores full electrical capacity to the device. Fit is confirmed against the original 87.20 × 63.30 × 5.20mm footprint and connector position.

  • M4 Pro compatibility: The M4 Pro uses a single-cell Li-Polymer pack with a 4-pin BMS connector that carries cell voltage, thermistor, and ID data to the charge IC. This BN5D replacement matches that connector pinout and BMS handshake — no adapter needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the M4 Pro platform. The BMS accepted charge IC communication on first connection, and the thermistor line reported correctly throughout the test sequence.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

A new cell has a different internal resistance profile than the worn cell the fuel gauge IC learned from. Under peak modem, display, or processor load, voltage sags faster than the gauge predicts — and the protection circuit trips before the reported percentage reaches zero. The phone reads 25% but the cell is already below the BMS cutoff threshold under that load. One full discharge-to-charge cycle recalibrates the coulomb counter and eliminates most of these false cutoffs.

USB-PD fast charge not recognised on first cycle after swap

On first boot with a new BN5D, the charge IC may default to trickle charge until it completes a handshake with the BMS and confirms the cell is within safe temperature and voltage range. If fast charge appears unavailable in settings or the brick reverts to 5W output, let the phone charge fully at standard rate first. After one complete cycle, the charge IC re-enables the fast charge negotiation path. Confirm the fast charge icon returns at voltages above 3.6V on the second charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Poco M4 Pro shuts off around 25% battery after fitting the new BN5D — what's happening?

The fuel gauge IC is still running on the discharge curve it learned from the old, degraded cell. When modem or display load spikes, the new cell's voltage dips faster than the gauge expects, and the BMS trips before the counter reaches zero. Run one full discharge — use the phone normally until shutdown — then charge to 100% without fast charging enabled. That single cycle gives the coulomb counter enough data to remap the cutoff correctly.

The battery percentage is jumping around erratically after I replaced the BN5D — is the new cell faulty?

Most likely not a faulty cell. The fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge model for the original cell, and a fresh BN5D has a different voltage-versus-capacity curve. Until the IC recalibrates, percentage readings can jump 5–10% in either direction under load. Let the phone run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current — no fast charge — and the erratic readings typically stabilise once the IC has a full dataset from the new cell.

The M4 Pro won't power on at all after the replacement BN5D sat in storage — how do I recover it?

If the cell discharged below roughly 2.5V in storage, the BMS enters lockout to prevent damage and blocks normal boot. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on. The charge IC applies a low-current pre-charge pulse to bring the cell above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 3.0V, before it allows a full charge session and normal boot.
