Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Revue DC 600 Slim / DC 5600 Slim — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 3.7V 850mAh (3.15Wh) Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Revue DC 600 Slim and DC 5600 Slim compact digital cameras. It fits the same physical footprint at 40.20 × 35.30 × 6.10mm and slots directly into the battery compartment. Capacity matches the product data exactly — no inflated figures.
- DC 600 Slim and DC 5600 Slim compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector orientation, and 3.7V supply rail. The BMS in each body reads cell state the same way, so one replacement cell covers both variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a camera body representative of the DC Slim platform. The BMS accepted the cell, reported charge state correctly after one full charge cycle completed inside the camera body, and held voltage within the expected discharge curve throughout the test.
- First-install charge cycle on the DC Slim body: Run the first full charge cycle through the camera body itself, not a standalone external charger. The DC Slim BMS maps its battery-remaining display to a discharge curve calibrated during that first in-body charge. Skipping this step can cause the indicator to read erratically from the first shoot.
Battery percentage jumping on the DC Slim display after fitting a new cell
The DC Slim uses a voltage-threshold method to estimate charge remaining. A new cell has a slightly different discharge curve profile than a worn original, so the camera's indicator can mis-map the thresholds early in the cell's life. This shows up as the percentage skipping — jumping from 80% to 50% in a single shot burst, or stalling at 100% then dropping suddenly. One complete charge-to-discharge cycle inside the camera body recalibrates the threshold mapping. After that cycle, the indicator tracks the new cell accurately.
Flash not fully recycling between shots on a new DC Slim battery
The capacitor that drives the DC Slim flash recharges by drawing a short high-current pulse from the cell after each shot. If the cell voltage sags under that pulse — common when a cell is cold or has not yet completed a break-in cycle — the capacitor does not reach full charge before the next exposure. The result is noticeably weaker flash output or a longer-than-normal recycle delay. Warm the camera to room temperature and complete one full charge cycle in-body first. If recycle lag continues after that, check that the battery contacts in the compartment are clean and making firm contact.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Revue DC 600 Slim shows a dead battery icon even though I just fitted a fully charged replacement — why?
The DC Slim BMS runs an authentication check on first install and can reject a new cell if it has never been charged inside the camera body. Power the camera off, leave the battery seated for 30 seconds, then power it on again. If the icon persists, connect the camera to its charger and run one full charge cycle from within the body — this satisfies the BMS check and the icon clears.
The battery percentage on my DC 5600 Slim drops from around 70% straight to empty with no warning — what causes that?
This is a voltage-threshold mapping issue. The camera estimates remaining charge by comparing cell voltage against fixed thresholds calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. A new cell holds voltage higher for longer then drops more steeply at the end, so the camera reads it as full until the voltage crosses the low-battery threshold abruptly. Run one full discharge — shoot until the camera shuts itself off — then charge fully in-body. The indicator will track the new cell's curve correctly after that cycle.
My DC 600 Slim drains faster during video recording than during photo shooting — is something wrong with the cell?
Nothing is wrong. Video mode runs the image sensor, processor, and any stabilisation system simultaneously and without the idle gaps between shots that photo mode allows. That sustained combined draw pulls more current from the cell and depletes it faster than the per-shot spec count implies. The 850mAh capacity is correct for this replacement. If drain still seems excessive, check that LCD brightness is not set to maximum and that any continuous AF mode is off — both add measurable draw on top of the sensor and processor load.
