Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Prestigio MultiPhone 4040 Duo — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (PAP4040 DUO)
This is a 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion battery for the Prestigio MultiPhone 4040 Duo dual-SIM smartphone. It replaces the original PAP4040 DUO cell when the existing battery no longer holds a charge or has degraded past usable capacity. Physical dimensions are 52.30 × 50.90 × 5.30mm — confirm against your existing cell before fitting.
- MultiPhone 4040 Duo fit: The 4040 Duo runs dual SIM standby on a single 3.7V cell. The PAP4040 DUO cell matches the voltage rail and connector pinout so the phone's charge IC and protection circuit communicate correctly with the replacement.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge under dual-SIM standby load. The BMS held cutoff correctly at both ends and did not trigger false low-voltage lockout under screen-on draw.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging if available and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter to the new cell's actual discharge curve before the OS starts reporting percentages you can trust.
Why the MultiPhone 4040 Duo shuts down suddenly at 20–30% after a cell swap
The 4040 Duo's fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell. When the new cell hits a voltage point the IC associates with 20–30% on the old curve, it can signal a low-voltage event and cut power — even though actual charge remains. The modem radio draws a sharp current spike during a call or data burst, and if the IC hasn't recalibrated, it reads that voltage sag as critically low. One full discharge cycle down to automatic shutdown, followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, forces the coulomb counter to reset against the new cell's real capacity.
Phone not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If this battery sat long enough to drop below 2.5V per cell, the BMS may have entered lockout mode to prevent damage — the phone will show no response when the power button is pressed. Connect the phone to a wall charger, not a PC USB port, and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell until voltage climbs above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 2.9–3.0V, before normal charging and power-on become available.

Frequently Asked Questions
The battery percentage on my MultiPhone 4040 Duo keeps jumping around after I fitted the new cell — is something wrong with it?
Nothing is wrong with the cell itself. The fuel gauge IC on the 4040 Duo is still calibrated to the old battery's discharge curve, so it misreads the new cell's voltage steps as erratic percentage changes. Run one complete cycle — discharge until the phone shuts itself off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — and the coulomb counter will remap to the new cell. Percentage readings stabilise after that first full cycle.
My 4040 Duo gets noticeably warm near the battery area during the first few charges with the replacement cell — should I be concerned?
A new Li-ion cell typically has slightly higher internal impedance on its first few charge cycles compared to a well-used cell that has been broken in. The charge IC pushes current into that higher-impedance cell, and the extra resistive heating is what you're feeling. It reduces after three to five full cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If the phone stays warm well beyond the end of a charge or the back becomes hot to the touch, stop charging and check the connector seating on the replacement cell.
I installed the new battery but my MultiPhone 4040 Duo won't turn on at all — the screen stays completely black.
If the cell discharged below roughly 2.5V during storage, the BMS has locked out to protect the cell from over-discharge damage. Plug into a wall charger — not a computer USB port, which may not supply enough current to wake the charge IC — and leave it connected for at least 15 minutes without pressing the power button. Once the cell voltage climbs back above the BMS re-enable threshold (around 3.0V), the phone will begin a normal charging sequence and power on from there.
