Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

PSC Falcon 4220 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (4006-0326)
This 3.7V, 1800mAh Li-ion battery replaces OEM part 4006-0326 in the PSC Falcon 4220 handheld barcode scanner. The Falcon 4220 is a wireless portable scanner used in retail and warehouse inventory workflows. Voltage and cell dimensions match the original pack exactly — 53.39 x 42.42 x 13.38mm.
- Falcon 4220 platform fit: The 4220 draws from a single Li-ion cell at 3.7V nominal to power both the scan engine and the wireless radio simultaneously. Any replacement pack must match this voltage rail and the connector pinout — this unit does both.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-trigger and wireless polling loads on the bench. The BMS held the protection thresholds correctly and did not trip under combined inrush from the laser engine and radio module.
- First-shift preparation: After installing, seat the scanner in its charging cradle for a full charge cycle before pulling it into a pick-and-pack shift. The scan trigger draws peak inrush current when the cell is near minimum — a fully charged cell prevents false BMS cutoffs during the first burst of the day.
Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack
A charging error on a freshly installed pack usually comes down to contact resistance at the dock terminals, not a faulty battery. The Falcon 4220 cradle reads pack voltage through the contact pins before enabling charge current — dirty or oxidised contacts break that circuit. Wipe the gold contacts on the battery and the cradle seat with a dry cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly. If the error clears within 30 seconds, contact resistance was the cause.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
During rapid scanning, the Falcon 4220 pulls current for both the scan engine trigger and the wireless radio at the same moment. If the cell voltage sags too far under that combined load, the radio module drops its connection before the BMS trips the pack entirely. This typically shows up mid-shift when the battery is below 50% charge. Keeping the pack above 3.6V under load prevents the sag — charge before shifts where high scan frequency is expected.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why won't my Falcon 4220 read barcodes right after I swapped the battery?
The Falcon 4220 scan engine needs sufficient cell voltage to fire the laser at the intensity required for a clean decode — if the replacement pack ships partially discharged, the laser output drops below the minimum threshold and scans fail or miss. This is not a hardware fault. Place the scanner in the cradle and run a full charge cycle before attempting to scan. Once the cell reaches 4.1–4.2V, the scan engine will operate at full power.
My Falcon 4220 is getting warm on the back panel during a long shift — is that a battery problem?
Sustained combined draw from the wireless radio polling and repeated scan triggers generates heat inside the sealed housing of the Falcon 4220, and the battery contributes to this. If the pack is warm to the touch but not hot, that is within normal operating range for a 3.7V Li-ion cell under continuous load. If the housing feels hot and the scanner is throttling or shutting down, the BMS may be entering thermal protection — rotate a second charged pack into service and let the warm unit cool for 15 minutes before recharging.
The Falcon 4220 isn't lasting through a full shift like the original battery did — what causes that?
Shift endurance on the Falcon 4220 depends heavily on scan burst frequency and how often the wireless radio is polling the host system — both draw current simultaneously and neither shows up as a single obvious drain. A replacement pack at 1800mAh matches the original specification, but if the original pack was already degraded when you started comparing, the gap will feel larger than it is. Charge the new pack fully to 4.2V, run one complete shift, and measure how many hours it delivered before forming a conclusion. If endurance is still short after three full charge cycles, check that the cradle contacts are clean and the pack is reaching full charge voltage.
