A charging error on a freshly installed pack usually comes down to contact resistance at the dock terminals, not a faulty battery. The Falcon 4220 cradle reads pack voltage through the contact pins before enabling charge current — dirty or oxidised contacts break that circuit. Wipe the gold contacts on the battery and the cradle seat with a dry cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly. If the error clears within 30 seconds, contact resistance was the cause.

During rapid scanning, the Falcon 4220 pulls current for both the scan engine trigger and the wireless radio at the same moment. If the cell voltage sags too far under that combined load, the radio module drops its connection before the BMS trips the pack entirely.
