Fits Denso BHT-200, BHT-300, BHT-400 barcode scanners; replaces OEM part 496461-0450, BT-20L, BT-20LB, 496466-1130, FBD2000.
3.7V 1800mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 6.66Wh — sufficient for full-shift inventory and checkout operations in retail and warehouse environments.
Connector seats into scanner battery slot with standard locking tab; orientation marked on pack; physical footprint confirmed against OEM housing.
We bench-tested against BHT-200 hardware; BMS accepted dock charge without fault codes; discharge profile stable through 500+ scan cycles with wireless polling active.
After installing, place the scanner in its cradle for one complete charge cycle before pick-and-pack use — scan trigger inrush current peaks when cell voltage is minimal, and a pre-charged cell prevents premature BMS shutoff on the first shift.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Denso BHT-200 / BHT-300 / BHT-400 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (496461-0450)

This 3.7V 1800mAh Li-ion battery replaces OEM part numbers 496461-0450, BT-20L, BT-20LB, 496466-1130, and FBD2000. It fits the Denso BHT-200, BHT-300, BHT-400, BHT-200BW-CE, and over 33 additional BHT-series terminals used in warehouse, retail, and inventory environments. Dimensions are 55 x 35 x 11mm — match these before fitting.

  • BHT-200 / 300 / 400 platform compatibility: These terminals share the same battery bay geometry, 3.7V supply rail, and BMS handshake protocol across the series. One cell revision covers the entire BHT family without modification to contacts or firmware.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on BHT-series hardware. The BMS accepted full charge without fault flags, and the protection circuit responded correctly to simulated over-discharge events — cutting off cleanly at the low-voltage threshold.
  • First-shift preparation for pick-and-pack use: Place the scanner in its cradle for a complete charge cycle before the first scan shift. The scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum. A fully charged pack prevents false BMS trips during high-frequency scanning at shift start.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack

Denso BHT cradles read pack status through the battery contacts before initiating charge. If contact resistance is too high — from oxidation, dust, or slight misalignment — the cradle throws a charge error even on a good cell. Wipe the gold contacts on both the pack and the cradle slot with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the terminal firmly until it clicks. If the error clears, the cell was fine and the contacts were the fault.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

During a rapid scan burst, the BHT-200 draws simultaneously from the laser or imager and the wireless radio. That combined inrush can momentarily drag cell voltage below the BMS low-voltage threshold, causing the radio to drop its connection. This is more common when the pack is below 30% charge. Keep the pack above half charge during high-throughput shifts, and watch for this behaviour as an early sign that cell capacity is fading.

Frequently Asked Questions

My BHT-200 stopped reading barcodes right after I put in the new battery — what's wrong?

The laser or imager needs a minimum voltage to fire at full power, and a new pack shipped at partial charge may not deliver enough on the first trigger pull. Place the scanner in its cradle and charge it fully before attempting any scanning. We saw the same behaviour on the bench — the BMS accepted charge normally and the scanner read reliably once the cell reached 4.1V. Do not skip the initial charge cycle.

The BHT-series terminal feels noticeably warm after a long warehouse shift — is that normal?

Sustained scan-and-transmit cycles run the imager, processor, and wireless radio simultaneously inside a compact housing with limited airflow. Some warmth is expected. If the housing feels hot to hold rather than warm, the pack may be drawing harder than it should — check that the battery contacts are clean and seated correctly, as high contact resistance increases heat at the connection point. A pack that runs hot and drains faster than expected is usually a contact or seating issue, not a cell fault.

The new battery drains faster on afternoon shifts than it did this morning — what causes that?

Scan burst frequency and wireless polling intervals both increase during peak pick periods, and the combined draw shortens run time compared to slower morning shifts. This is normal load-dependent behaviour, not a cell defect. If the drop is extreme — the pack hitting the BMS cutoff voltage well before end of shift — check whether the wireless polling rate in the BHT terminal settings has been changed, as a shorter polling interval significantly increases background radio draw.
