Fits AUTO-ID ASIA barcode scanner; replaces OEM battery pack for handheld scanning operations.
3.7V 1800mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full power to laser module and wireless radio without mid-shift cutoff.
Connector slides into scanner battery slot with locking tab engagement; orientation marked on housing and pack.
Bench testing on ASIA dock confirmed BMS accepts charge current without fault light; full capacity verified on load.
After installing, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before using in pick-and-pack — the scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum and a pre-charged cell prevents false BMS trips on the first shift.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AUTO-ID ASIA — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V 1800mAh (6.66Wh) lithium-ion cell is a direct replacement for the AUTO-ID ASIA barcode scanner. It fits handheld scanners used in retail, warehousing, and inventory management. Swap it in when the original cell can no longer hold enough charge to complete a shift.

  • AUTO-ID ASIA scanner fit: The ASIA model runs a 3.7V single-cell architecture with a form factor of 55 × 35 × 11mm. This pack matches that envelope and voltage rail, so the scanner's power management circuit sees no unexpected signal at startup.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-burst loads and monitored BMS cutoff thresholds. The cell held voltage above the scanner's minimum operating point across the draw profile without triggering a false low-battery shutdown.
  • First-shift preparation: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before putting it on the floor. Scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum, and a fully charged pack prevents false BMS trips during the first pick-and-pack shift.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack

A charging error on a freshly installed battery usually points to contact resistance at the dock, not a faulty cell. Cradle contacts collect dust, label residue, and skin oil from repeated insertions. High resistance between the dock and the pack's gold contacts causes the charger circuit to see an out-of-range response and flag an error. Wipe both the pack contacts and the cradle pins with a dry cloth, reseat the scanner firmly, and check whether the error clears within 30 seconds.

Scanner losing wireless connection during a rapid scan burst

During a fast scan burst, the imager draw and the wireless radio transmit pulse happen almost simultaneously. On a degraded or low cell, this combined inrush pulls the pack voltage below the radio module's minimum threshold — typically around 3.2V — causing the wireless stack to drop. The scanner may reconnect on its own, but the session data can be lost. Keeping the cell above 3.5V before a high-frequency scanning session avoids the sag that triggers this dropout.

Frequently Asked Questions

My AUTO-ID ASIA scanner won't read barcodes after I put the new battery in — laser powers on but no decode. What's wrong?

The imager or laser module needs a minimum voltage to fire at full power — if the new pack shipped partially discharged, the scanner may power on but fail to decode because illumination is too weak. This is common on cells that have been in storage. Seat the scanner in its cradle and charge fully before your first scan attempt. Once the pack reaches 4.1–4.2V, decoder performance returns to normal.

The scanner runs warm after a long shift — is that a battery issue or a device issue?

Sustained scanning combined with continuous wireless polling generates heat inside the enclosed housing, and the battery contributes to that. A cell with capacity fade runs at higher internal resistance, which converts more energy to heat rather than useful current. If the pack is noticeably warmer than the housing after a shift, check resting voltage after a full charge — it should read 4.1V or above. A cell that charges to only 3.9V or lower has degraded and should be replaced.

The replacement battery doesn't seem to last as long as the original did when it was new — what affects shift endurance?

Two loads run simultaneously on this scanner: the scan trigger inrush each time a barcode is read, and the wireless radio polling interval in the background. High scan frequency combined with a short wireless polling interval drains the 1800mAh cell faster than light, intermittent use. If your environment involves dense back-to-back scanning with the radio on continuous connect mode, endurance will be shorter than in low-frequency inventory spot-checks. Reduce polling frequency in the scanner's wireless settings if the host software allows it — that alone can extend shift endurance noticeably.
