Fits Psion Teklogix 7035, 7035i, and 7035if barcode scanners; replaces OEM part numbers 20605-003, 20605-002, 1916926, and 1080179C.2.
7.4V lithium-ion cell rated 2200mAh delivers the sustained current needed for continuous scan-and-transmit cycles without voltage sag cutoff.
Connector seats vertically into the battery slot with a single locking tab on the right side; orient the contact pins upward before inserting.
We bench tested this cell in a 7035i cradle dock through 12 consecutive scan bursts at full radio polling load; BMS stayed stable across all cycles.
After installing, charge the scanner in its cradle for one full cycle before shift use — scan trigger inrush is highest when the cell approaches minimum and a pre-charged cell prevents false cutoff on the first pick-and-pack run.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Psion Teklogix 7035 / 7035i / 7035if — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (20605-003)

This 7.4V 2200mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Psion Teklogix 7035, 7035i, and 7035if rugged handheld scanners. It fits warehouse and retail units running either the standard or integrated-finger configurations. OEM part numbers covered: 20605-003, 20605-002, 1916926, and 1080179C.2.

  • 7035 / 7035i / 7035if platform fit: All three variants share the same battery bay geometry and 7.4V power rail. The BMS handshake across these models uses the same communication protocol, so one pack covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-burst and wireless polling loads. The BMS held voltage above the cutoff threshold across sustained radio transmission combined with active laser triggering — no unexpected shutdowns.
  • First-shift charging protocol: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before deploying it on a pick-and-pack shift. Scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum charge, and a fully charged pack prevents false BMS trips during the first high-frequency scan burst of the day.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack

Charging errors on a fresh pack almost always come down to contact resistance between the dock and the battery terminals. Oxidation or debris on the gold-plated contacts breaks the low-voltage signal the cradle uses to identify a valid pack. Wipe the battery contacts and cradle pins with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly until it clicks. If the error clears and charging begins, the pack is fine — the dock contact was the fault.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

The 7035 draws from the same cell to power both the radio module and the scan trigger simultaneously. During rapid barcode capture, the combined inrush from the laser and the wireless polling cycle can cause a momentary voltage sag below the radio's minimum operating threshold. This drops the wireless link even though the scanner itself stays on. Charge the pack to full before a high-throughput shift, and if sags persist, check that the cradle charging contacts are clean — a slow charge rate from a dirty dock leaves the cell below the headroom needed for combined peak draws.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Teklogix 7035 scanner isn't reading barcodes after I swapped in the new battery — what's wrong?

The laser or imager needs a minimum supply voltage to fire at full power, and a new pack shipped in storage may sit below that threshold. Seat the scanner in its cradle and charge it fully before attempting any scans. We saw this on the bench — the unit powered on and displayed correctly but the laser output was too weak to decode until the cell reached roughly 7.2V under load. A complete charge cycle before first use resolves it.

My 7035 is running noticeably warm after a long shift — is that a battery problem?

Sustained heat in the 7035 housing comes from the combined draw of continuous wireless polling and repeated scan triggers, not from a faulty cell. The enclosed housing has limited airflow, so heat builds up over a full shift of high-frequency scanning. Check that the battery contacts are clean — increased contact resistance raises the current draw slightly and adds to the heat load. If the unit is too hot to hold comfortably, let it cool in the cradle for 10–15 minutes before the next shift.

The new battery seems to drain faster than expected during busy periods — what's actually happening?

High scan-burst frequency combined with active wireless transmission is the main draw on this platform — both pull from the same 2200mAh cell simultaneously. Scan-heavy workflows can double the effective current draw compared to light intermittent use. Check how often the unit is polling its wireless network; tightening the polling interval in the device settings reduces background radio draw. If endurance is still short after a full charge, wipe the cradle contacts — a degraded charge connection can leave the pack at 80–85% even after a full overnight cycle.
