Fits Vocollect Talkman T2 and T2X handheld scanners; replaces OEM part 730025.
7.4V and 3400mAh capacity delivers sustained power through full warehouse shifts with barcode scanning and wireless radio polling.
Connector type is proprietary Vocollect dock interface; battery seats horizontally into cradle with integral contact pins.
We ran load cycles on the Talkman T2 dock; BMS accepted charge on first insertion and held regulation through scan trigger bursts.
Before first shift, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle — scan trigger inrush is highest near minimum voltage and can trip the BMS cutoff prematurely.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vocollect Talkman T2 / T2X — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (730025)

This 7.4V 3400mAh Li-ion pack replaces OEM part numbers 730025, 730021, BT-602-1, and CWI26591 in the Vocollect Talkman T2 and T2X voice-directed picking terminals. These devices run warehouse pick-and-pack operations via voice commands, so a dead or degraded cell directly stops a worker mid-shift. Voltage and capacity match the original spec exactly.

  • T2 and T2X compatibility: Both models run the same 7.4V power rail, use the same physical connector, and communicate with the same BMS handshake protocol — one pack covers either unit without modification or firmware changes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a T2 unit, confirmed the BMS handshake completed correctly, and verified the voice prompt and scan trigger responded without fault codes or mid-cycle cutoffs.
  • First-use charging on the T2 dock: After installing, seat the pack in the Talkman cradle and run a full charge cycle before the first shift. Scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum — starting from a full charge prevents false BMS trips on that first pick run.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack

The Talkman dock reads pack state through pogo-pin contacts on the battery base. If those contacts are dirty or partially seated, the dock registers a communication fault and flags a charging error even though the pack itself is fine. Wipe the gold contacts on both the pack and the dock with a dry cloth, then firmly reseat the battery until it clicks. If the error clears, the issue was contact resistance — not a faulty cell.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

The T2 draws current simultaneously from the wireless radio and the imager during a fast scan sequence. Combined inrush from both loads can pull the cell voltage down sharply, and a worn or low-charge pack may drop below the BMS floor, causing the radio to drop its network association. This looks like a wireless fault but is actually a voltage sag event. Keep the pack above 7.0V during shift — if dropout persists on a fully charged new pack, check the dock contacts for poor charge transfer.

Frequently Asked Questions

My T2 stopped reading barcodes immediately after I swapped in the new battery — what happened?

The imager needs a minimum voltage to fire reliably, and a new pack shipped in storage state may not have enough charge to sustain the laser or imager on first trigger. Seat the pack in the Talkman cradle and complete a full charge cycle before taking the unit to the floor. Once charged above 7.2V, the imager should fire consistently on the first trigger pull.

The T2X feels noticeably warm after a full warehouse shift — is that a battery problem?

Sustained voice-prompt audio, wireless polling, and repeated scan trigger draws all generate heat inside the T2X's enclosed housing — this is normal under heavy use. The pack itself runs warm but should not be hot to the touch when removed. If the housing is too hot to hold comfortably, check that the ventilation area around the battery bay isn't blocked by a case or holster, and confirm the pack voltage drops no lower than 6.8V at end of shift.

The new battery doesn't seem to last as long as the original did when it was new — what drains it faster than expected?

Scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval are the two biggest variables on the T2 platform — a high-volume pick line scanning every few seconds with active Wi-Fi will consume significantly more capacity than light-duty use. Also confirm the dock is delivering a full charge; a dock with worn contacts may terminate the charge cycle early, leaving the pack at 80–85% before the shift starts. Check the pack rests at or near 8.4V after a full dock cycle before concluding the capacity is short.
