Fits Pyle PUCRC95, PUCRC96B, PRTPUCRC9520, PUCRC95UK cordless handheld vacuums; replaces OEM battery part number PRTPUCRC95BATT.
14.4V Ni-MH chemistry delivers 1800mAh capacity; sufficient for the motor's sustained draw during normal floor and upholstery debris collection.
Battery slides into the pack slot with a forward locking tab; connector aligns vertically on insertion and seats flush against the motor housing.
We bench-tested the cell under simulated motor load — the BMS accepted full charge cycles without cutoff and held voltage stable under sustained draw.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously after reaching full charge; Ni-MH cells on trickle dock charging develop capacity fade within weeks, so charge to full and remove immediately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Pyle PUCRC95 Series — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (PRTPUCRC95BATT)

This is a 14.4V 1800mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Pyle PUCRC95 cordless handheld vacuum cleaner. It fits the PUCRC95, PUCRC96B, PRTPUCRC9520, and PUCRC95UK models. These models share the same voltage rail, cell format, and connector, so one battery covers the full range.

  • PUCRC95 series compatibility: The PUCRC95, PUCRC96B, PRTPUCRC9520, and PUCRC95UK all run the same 14.4V Ni-MH pack with an identical connector and BMS handshake. Pyle used the same power platform across this vacuum range, so the PRTPUCRC95BATT part number covers all four.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through full charge and load discharge on the PUCRC95 platform. The BMS handled motor-start current draw without tripping, and suction output held consistent through the discharge curve until the low-voltage cutoff engaged cleanly.
  • Dock charging on the PUCRC95: Do not leave the vacuum on the charging dock permanently. Ni-MH cells in cordless vacuums develop capacity fade significantly faster under continuous trickle charge. Charge fully, then remove from the dock and store the vacuum off the charger.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

Ni-MH cells lose voltage under sustained motor load before the indicator circuit registers a low-battery condition. On the PUCRC95, a partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw current above its rated level, which accelerates this voltage sag. The result is reduced suction well before the battery is actually depleted. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction recovers immediately, the battery is not the cause.

Motor cuts out mid-use then recovers after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the vacuum filter is restricted or the inlet is partially blocked, the motor draws sustained current above the BMS threshold and the pack shuts off as a protective measure. After a brief cool-down, the BMS resets and the vacuum powers back on. Clear the filter and any blockage at the intake, then confirm the cell voltage reads at or above 14.4V on a full charge before ruling out cell degradation.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Pyle PUCRC95 battery fades fast now — could leaving it on the dock have caused this?

Yes. Ni-MH cells in cordless vacuums are particularly vulnerable to trickle charge damage from permanent dock contact. Continuous low-level charging degrades cell capacity faster than normal cycling does. A replacement battery won't recover the same way if you keep it docked continuously — charge to full, then remove it from the dock each time.

The PUCRC95 motor cuts out under thick carpet or when I push it into a pile of debris, then starts again after I stop. What's happening?

The BMS is tripping on overcurrent. Restricted airflow — from a dirty filter or a blocked inlet — forces the motor to draw more current than the pack's protection circuit allows, so it shuts the battery off. After a short pause the BMS resets, which is why it restarts. Clean the filter thoroughly before assuming the battery is at fault; if the cut-outs stop after a filter clean, the cell is fine.

I put a new PRTPUCRC95BATT battery in my PUCRC95 and the charger doesn't seem to be charging it — the indicator light never changes. What should I check first?

Some Pyle chargers expect the battery to present a minimum resting voltage before beginning a charge cycle. If a deeply discharged original battery was left in the dock for a long time, the charger circuit may be calibrated to that degraded baseline. Connect the new battery and leave it on the charger undisturbed for at least 30 minutes — the BMS in a freshly shipped Ni-MH pack sometimes needs that initial window before the charger handshake completes. If the indicator still doesn't change after 30 minutes, test the charger output voltage at the dock contacts; it should read 16–17V DC.
