Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Redmi Note 11 Pro+ — 7.74V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BP47)
The BP47 is a 7.74V, 2150mAh Li-Polymer cell that fits the Redmi Note 11 Pro+, Note 11 Pro Plus, Note 11 Pro+ 5G, and model 21091116UC. It restores power to a phone that no longer holds charge or shuts down unexpectedly. Capacity is 16.64Wh at rated voltage.
- Note 11 Pro+ series fit: These models share the BP47 footprint, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The 93.30 × 64.70 × 4.80mm cell slots into the same chassis cavity without modification to the flex cable or rear housing.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge-discharge cycle on a Note 11 Pro+ unit and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell, reported state-of-charge correctly after calibration, and passed the thermal check at the charge IC.
- First-cycle fast charge lockout: After installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. Running fast charge into an uncalibrated cell can cause the coulomb counter to read incorrectly from the first cycle onward.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
A fresh BP47 can trigger unexpected shutdowns when the phone reports 20–30% remaining. The fuel gauge IC still holds the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. When the new cell's actual voltage drops under modem or display load, the IC has no accurate map to follow and forces a protection shutdown. One full discharge-charge cycle — taken to near-zero and back to 100% without fast charging — gives the coulomb counter enough data to remap against the new cell. After that cycle, shutdowns at mid-charge should stop.
Phone will not power on after the BP47 sat in storage
Li-Polymer cells in storage self-discharge. If the BP47 has dropped below roughly 2.5V per cell, the BMS trips into lockout mode and blocks current flow to protect the cell from deep-discharge damage. The phone will show no response to the power button. Connect to a 5V charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing anything — the charge IC applies a low-current trickle that can bring the cell above the BMS recovery threshold. Once voltage recovers above 3.0V per cell, the BMS releases lockout and the phone will boot normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Redmi Note 11 Pro+ keeps shutting off at around 25% after I put the new BP47 in — why?
The fuel gauge IC is still using the discharge curve from the old, worn cell. When the new BP47's voltage dips under screen or modem load, the IC misreads it as critically low and forces a shutdown before the cell is actually flat. Run one full cycle — discharge to near-zero, then charge to 100% with fast charging turned off. That gives the coulomb counter enough real data to recalibrate against the BP47's actual voltage curve, and the premature shutdowns should stop.
Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in the phone after fitting the BP47 — is something wrong?
Nothing is broken. On the first cycle after a cell swap, the BMS on the new cell has not yet completed its handshake with the phone's charge IC, so the proprietary fast-charge protocol is not accepted. Plug in with fast charging disabled and complete one full standard charge to 100%. On the next charge cycle the BMS handshake resolves and fast charging resumes as normal.
The battery percentage on my Note 11 Pro+ is jumping around erratically — it skipped from 60% to 41% in a few minutes with no warning.
Erratic percentage jumps after a cell replacement mean the fuel gauge IC is recalibrating. The IC stores a learned model of the old cell's voltage-to-capacity curve; the BP47 has a different discharge profile, so the readings are unstable until the counter rebuilds its map. Do one complete discharge-charge cycle without fast charging — take the phone down to auto-shutdown and charge back to 100% in one session. After that cycle the coulomb counter locks onto the new curve and percentage reporting stabilises.
