Fits Rolando RA 201 S cordless vacuum and replaces OEM battery pack for this model.
14.4V and 4000mAh capacity deliver full motor power through extended cleaning cycles on hardwood and carpet.
Connector slides onto the dock contact pins with a positive lock tab that seats flush against the grip frame.
Bench testing showed the Ni-MH pack delivered steady voltage under sustained motor load without voltage sag or cutoff.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously — Ni-MH packs fade rapidly under trickle charge and lose capacity within weeks.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Rolando RA 201 S — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This 14.4V Ni-MH battery pack replaces the original power cell in the Rolando RA 201 S cordless vacuum cleaner. It carries 4000mAh capacity and matches the voltage rail the motor controller expects. Drop it in when the original pack no longer holds charge through a full cleaning session.

  • RA 201 S motor compatibility: The RA 201 S motor controller runs on a 14.4V rail. A cell that delivers even slightly lower nominal voltage under load causes the controller to throttle suction output early. This pack holds the rail steady through the discharge curve, keeping suction consistent until the pack is genuinely depleted.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated load tests matching the RA 201 S motor draw. The BMS handled sustained draw without nuisance trips, and voltage under load stayed within the motor controller's operating window across all test cycles.
  • Dock charging practice on Ni-MH cells: Ni-MH chemistry is sensitive to trickle charge. Do not leave the RA 201 S sitting on the dock after the charge cycle completes — continuous dock charging accelerates capacity fade on Ni-MH packs faster than on lithium chemistries. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the RA 201 S

This is a voltage sag symptom, not a capacity problem. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor draws more current than rated to maintain airflow, pulling cell voltage down faster than the discharge curve predicts. The battery indicator reads remaining charge, not current voltage under load — so the indicator can still show mid-range while suction has already dropped noticeably. Check and clean the filter first, then retest. If suction holds after a clean filter, the pack is fine.

Motor cuts out briefly then recovers mid-clean

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty battery. When the filter or brush roll is restricted, sustained high current draw triggers the pack's protection circuit to cut output momentarily. The BMS resets automatically once current drops, which is why the vacuum recovers after a few seconds. Clear the filter and brush roll of debris, then confirm the pack reaches at least 14.4V on a resting charge before ruling out the cell itself.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Rolando RA 201 S loses suction well before the battery light shows low — is the new pack faulty?

Not necessarily — this is usually a filter restriction problem, not a battery problem. A clogged filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, pulling cell voltage down fast under load while the charge indicator still reads mid-range. Clean the filter thoroughly, then retest. If suction holds consistently after that, the pack is working correctly.

The vacuum cuts out for a few seconds then restarts on its own — what causes that on a new battery?

That's a BMS overcurrent trip. When suction is restricted — blocked filter, tangled brush roll — the motor pulls sustained high current and the pack's protection circuit shuts output off temporarily. It resets once the load drops, which is why the vacuum restarts by itself. Clear the filter and brush roll, then check that the pack rests at 14.4V or above before assuming the cell is defective.

My original Rolando pack lost capacity fast — how do I stop that happening with the replacement?

Continuous dock charging is the main cause of early capacity fade on Ni-MH packs. Trickle charge from sitting on the dock after a full charge cycle degrades Ni-MH cells significantly faster than it would a lithium pack. Charge the RA 201 S to full, then remove it from the dock and store it off the charger until the next use.
