Fits Ronbo RB700 Fetal Monitor, replaces OEM part number RB-700.
14.8V, 2600mAh lithium-ion pack delivers full capacity for continuous fetal monitoring sessions without mid-shift power loss.
Connector slides vertically into the battery bay with a single locking tab; no forced insertion required.
We bench-tested this cell on the RB700 charging circuit; the BMS accepted the new pack after one complete charge cycle without fault codes.
Allow the monitor to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption after installation — medical devices validate new battery chemistry at startup, and interrupting this sequence triggers a false fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ronbo RB700 Fetal Monitor — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (RB-700)

This 14.8V, 2600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original power pack in the Ronbo RB700 Fetal Monitor. It fits the RB700 directly, matching the OEM voltage rail and connector configuration. The RB700 is a portable clinical device used to monitor fetal heart rate and uterine contractions — a stable, correctly specified battery is non-negotiable in that environment.

  • RB700 platform fit: The RB700 runs a 14.8V four-cell Li-ion configuration. This replacement matches that cell count and voltage rail, so the onboard BMS handshake completes without triggering a battery fault on the device's power management board.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a 14.8V medical-class load profile. The BMS reported state-of-charge accurately from the second cycle onward, and no thermal events or cutoff trips occurred during the test sequence.
  • Post-installation self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, let the RB700 complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device runs BMS verification at startup — cutting power during this sequence stores a false battery fault that persists until the next complete reboot cycle.

Why the RB700 alarms low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge

The RB700's BMS sets its low-battery threshold against a learned capacity baseline from the OEM cell. A new replacement cell hasn't completed the learn cycle yet, so the BMS may read state-of-charge conservatively and trip the alarm even at a full charge state. This is not a faulty battery — it's the BMS operating before it has calibrated to the new cell's actual capacity curve. Run one complete charge-to-discharge-to-charge cycle without interruption. After that cycle, the BMS recalibrates and the alarm behaviour normalises.

RB700 will not power on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If voltage drops below approximately 10V — which can happen after several months on a shelf — the RB700's BMS protection circuit locks out to prevent deep-discharge damage, and the device shows no response at all. Connect the battery to the RB700 on charge and leave it for a minimum of two hours before attempting to power on. The charge IC applies a low-current pre-charge recovery phase that brings the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 12V, before normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

The RB700 charge indicator stops at around 90% and never reaches full — is the battery defective?

No. On the first charge, the RB700's charge IC applies a conservative upper limit to a new cell it hasn't profiled yet. This is normal behaviour and not a fault. Run one full charge-discharge-charge cycle without interrupting the device. After that cycle, the charge indicator will reach 100% consistently.

The RB700 shuts off unexpectedly during monitoring even though the battery showed adequate charge — what's happening?

Medical device load profiles place higher instantaneous current demands on a new cell than the BMS expects in the first ten cycles. The BMS interprets the resulting voltage sag as a low-cell condition and cuts power as a protection measure. This is most common during the initial break-in period. Complete ten full charge-discharge cycles before using the battery in a clinical setting, and the BMS will adjust its cutoff threshold to match the cell's actual discharge curve.

The RB700 failed its self-test immediately after we swapped the battery — the previous battery passed every time.

The BMS learn cycle resets when a new cell is installed. Until the device completes one full charge and discharge, it doesn't have a valid capacity baseline to run the self-test against, so the test returns a failure. Charge the battery to full, allow the device to run down to its normal low-battery cutoff point, then recharge fully. Run the self-test again after that cycle — it should pass before the unit is returned to clinical use.
